We stayed here for 3 nights in mid September based upon a Rick Steve recommendation and favorable reviews on TA, and were only truly disappointed with the lack of a shower. After stepping into a nice, deep jacuzzi tub you see a shower head on a flexible line, but there is no way to attach it to the wall, so...

We chose this hotel at random! It was fantastic, right in the centre of town. More importantly, the staff were amazing with their information and knowledge, knowing we only had one day and night We had one of the best meals of our entire stay thanks to the recommendation of the staff. Best of all, they organised a driver to...

Good location and breathtaking interior! Great interior design work. Breakfast is excellent - think crispy croissants, fresh baguettes and milky coffee followed by a cigarette afterwards outside the main door. Staff are amazingly helpful and very knowledgeable about the city's attractions and can recommend the best restaurants.

Basic everything, staff nice mostly, one lady very helpful with our lost luggage, continental breakfast is nice. Vicinity to the main town center and the river was quite good. Would stay again on budget

I loved Lyon and loved this elegant hotel. I stayed here for 5 nights in April. I found the staff very professionnal and helpful. While I didn't like the old fashioned keys which had to be handed in, I did appreciate the staff usually recognising me as they provided me with the right key without having to ask. I found...

Although we booked a superior room, our experience was less than super. Our room was on 1st floor. TV lacked Eng. speaking channel; not one. Curtains were see-through and the outdoor lights shone 24/7. The staff were helpful getting taxes and giving us input on sightseeing; but could not change the dour atmosphere of the lobby and breakfast room. Breakfast...

Located near the giant Bellecour plaza (and parking lot), the hotel was within a 15 minute walk to several major tourist sites (the old city quarters, the beaux arts museum)...Also, it is within a 5 minute walk to some of the best boutiques and shops (women's apparel) including La Printemps, MaxMara, Louis Vuitton, etc for some great window shopping ;-)...

This is a nice hotel i have stayed in for business for approx. 12 days. The good things are: - reactivity and practical informations given by front desk staff. - the decoration style is nice for someone who likes the french authentic style of decoration. - the bathroom is very nice if you correlate its size with the overall room...

If you're tired of chain hotels, this is definately a great alternative. Really nice staff, individual design, and very handy location. But... not all quirks may appeal to all people... my room had very deep-pile carpeting, which wasn't really inviting to lie down on to do pilates excercises in the morning. The bathroom was nice and large (great to have...

We just spent a few days in Lyon and enjoyed staying at the Globe et Cecil. The staff was very kind, the breakfast good, and the hotel was clean and comfortable. The location of the hotel is excellent. It is within walking distance of just about everything. I would say that the decor needs a bit of a refresh but...
