This small property is amongst a row of many hotels, sandwiched in between the Rhone riverbank and the Perrache railway station. It's actually a little bit tricky to reach as the station and the bridge means using a lot of underpasses and tunnels to get to the door. That's not the greatest feeling of security as the passageways are not exactly clean and inviting and at night, it's a distinctly dodgy part of the city. Nevertheless, the hotel itself is safe and secure, but they have issues that rather diminish the otherwise good service. The hotel is themed on railways, mainly it seems, British railways. Rooms are small and basic, yet fairly comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful with maps etc., but the overrall service is lacking. I had a single room and it really is for a single person. Preferably a child. The room and bed was tiny and cramped, but clean and modern. There was a desk squeezed in (but no chair), but nowhere really for luggage. The bed was comfortable and the linens clean and fresh and there is good lighting and power points, with reliable free WIFI. The room had good heating, but in fact, I found it was overheated and there's no control. The bathrooms are very similar to what you'll find on a train or a cheap cruise ship. All in one space, cramped and difficult to use. Toilet, sink and shower all together in one tiny space. The water from the shower is the same source as the sink and the sink isn't much use at all. The pressure is good, but the shower water goes everywhere, into the main sleeping room. It's not possible to avoid. The space would be ideal for a small adult, but a normal size adult is just going to feel cramped and hemmed in. They do provide tiny bars of soap and a tiny bottle of shampoo, plus one towel. It's all a bit sparse. The problem the hotel has is in their maid service. You might get your room cleaned. Most likely, you won't. Even if you ask the maids (which seem to be young, non English speaking men) they ignore you. When you get back after a long day to find the room unmade, trash not emptied, no soap, no shampoo, no towels, it's quite frustrating. I checked each morning to make sure I'd get service and each evening I'd return to find they hadn't done it. Breakfast is good, with a good range of food and drinks. Nothing hot at all, (except toast), but there's cheese, ham, pastries, breads, fruits, yogurts, coffees, juices etc. All enough to keep you going. The hotel needs to step up it's service. Otherwise, just be ready for a very small space. It's fine for a couple of nights and I managed to cope with the tiny bathroom stall, but any longer and I'd not have coped at all.

This hotel is very close to Peracche train station, about 3 minute walk. It is very quaint, we had a room that could sleep 3. The room was large and roomy, the bathroom was very tiny but adequate. The room was well heated as it was very cold outside and snowing. The staff were friendly and helpful.

This hotel was quiet, clean and felt safe as a solo traveler. It was a decent stay for someone on a small budget. It was easy to walk to many attractions in Lyon in both the new and old parts of the city. The staff was friendly and accommodating during my stay. I found the bed to be a bit uncomfortable and asked for an extra pillow which the man at the desk happily gave me.

I think reviews of this hotel highly depend on the room you get. The hotel is themed as a train ride through Europe. My single room definitely felt like being in a train. It was quite small, dark and the bathroom was tiny. It was okay for one night and I got a good deal online but the small room definitely isn't worth the full price. By the looks of the photos it is a bit different for the double rooms. For that reason I still gave 3 stars You walk about 25 minutes to the old town and 15 minutes to Confluence. The staff was really nice.

Dear AnniCatti We thank you for your feedback and are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the hotel's hospitality and our located. You had booked a single room for your stay. For your comfort, we preferred to put a double bed in the single rooms. We also have renovated double Comfort rooms which are more spacious with more storage space for an extra €5 per night. We hope to welcome you again, during your next visit to Lyon.

The hotel was easy to find. Parking was difficult and would be wise to take advantage of the hotel rate at a nearby car park - this is not the kind of area at night you want to leave you car. We arrived late and it looked a little disconcerting in the dark. However, the staff were friendly and welcoming and highly recommended the restaurant across the road and gave us some drinks vouchers. Glad she said it was good, as walking anywhere did not seem to be a great idea! In the morning, the place looked very different. It is close to some very large roads and not exactly picturesque, but a short walk away is a lovely river to walk along which is beautiful. It is also a short walk to the edge of town and finding somewhere for breakfast was easy! Fine for the 12 hours we stayed there as a stop over.
