First of all, need to apologize for the wrong date. This stay was Jan 2020, but tripadvisor does not allow me to post dates older than a year. The hotel was very good, in the middle of the "international City" of Lyon. So location is very convenient if you are OK to stay within the Cite Internationale (which is very well served with places to eat/drink)

Not the same hotel I stayed at in the past. Physical condition deteriorated and service not what was expected. Several items needed attention in the room and bathroom which are not what would be expected at a Crowne Plaza.

The hotel is located quite far from the city center and is clearly aimed to service business customers attending shows or conventions. Nevertheless the "Crowne family feeling" is all there and there are no surprises on what expected. Some maintenance is needed anyway: we experienced malfunctioning AC (but we where promptly moved to another room with an upgrade at no cost); still the AC controls in the new room were not perfectly working (the knob of the control fell and there was no way to put it back). One minus point is the parking space: no parking space around and the only option is the underground park that is not managed by the hotel so the ticket allows you to just go in and out, no matter the agreement between the hotel and park management. In other words it is alright if you come without a car but is can be a problem if you have to park one. The only more economical option is the "offer" where you can park from 8:00 pm to 9:00 am at 4,95 €; the rest is quite expensive. A bus stop for service going downtown is available in front of the hotel.

We have stayed for 3 nights in superior room with the balcony on 2nd floor. On hot days like we had, it is well worth paying extra for this type of room. Room itself is really compact with shower and no bath. Shower is flooding the floor, no matter what you do. In reality room is much smaller than what appears on the photos on the Accor booking page. The refridgerator is a joke, it does not cool at all. We were cooling our bottles in the sink with cold water… There were 2 small bottles of water in the room. We had bathrobes but no slippers, I had to chase these. My daughter bed was losing the bars (she is not heavy), which made her sleep uncomfortable. When you open balcony door, the aircon switches off automatically. I liked there was security chain on balcony door and that balcony was properly private. The staff is lovely and humble, pleasure to deal with. Especially tall Dutch receptionist. If you need to rely on public transport to go to the center of Lyon please note C5 bus is very infrequent. We were waiting 20 min each time for it to arrive and on the second day we actually decided to walk from the center to the hotel (40 minutes!) as bus was simply not coming for ages and we did not want to get on crowded bus in corona times when it would eventually arrive as bus stop was getting packed. Bus C1 to the train station is much more frequent, every 10 min. Note „Gare de Lyon” stop is actually few minutes walk to the station. As Gold member I got welcome drinks which we took on the outside terrace. They gave us 100 ml wine glasses which compared to our other experiences in France was not generous. There are reasonably priced dining options within few minutes walk - poular with local families. Overall it is nice hotel and I would probably stay again if price is right - it was quite expensive but at least price does not go up during the weekend like it is the case in other French hotels in popular spots. Lyon is very underrated! Well worth visiting and no tourists!

Dear Customer, First of all, I want to thank you for being a member of the IHG Rewards Club. Congratulations for your Elite Gold status! Thank you for the time you spent writing a review regarding your stay with us. As regards the shower, please accept our apologies. If the reception team was aware of this issue, we would have moved you to another room. Thanks to your feedback, we informed our technician in order to fix it. As regards minibars, I must clarify that they get drinks fresh but do not cool as a fridge. For your information, slippers are not available in standard rooms. If you booked another type of room, please accept our apologies if they were missing. I contacted our housekeeper manager about the extra bed for your daughter. Your comfort and well-being are our priority. It should not happened. For the amenities, we never got any negative information about the quantity. Make sure I have sent your comment to our food & beverage manager. I want to thank you for your feedback, it gives us the opportunity to improve our services. What a pleasure to read that we will certainly welcome you again. Best regards. Karin – Guest Relations

A good stop off on the way south. Car parking is some distance away - a good 5/10 minute walk in a shared commercial underground car park. We did take a luggage trolley down, but it isn’t easy with limited mobility. Not disabled friendly. The room wasn’t ready upon checking in at 3pm, so after a gruelling 8 hour drive, we had to sit around for half an hour with nothing to do with two very young, tired children. We had a nice breakfast in the room, but there was no restaurant, no afternoon or evening room service. Not very handy. The local eateries didn’t open until 1900, so we ended up driving in to town to a McDonald’s! Comfortable room (we had a suite).

Dear Customer, Thank you for your review concerning your stay with us. Please accept our apologies concerning the room which was not ready at 3pm. I understand your frustration at having to wait with two very young children after a long trip. I regret that we did not get the chance to help you when you were on site with the room service. This service is now available as well as a catering offer at the bar from 4.30 pm. I hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again and change your opinion about our hotel and services. I look forward to your next visit. Warm Regards. Karin - Guest Relations
