The hotel is in a business area so nowhere near to eat that’s really family friendly.
When I came back, the door of the hotel was closed. The reception was closed. Neither out of the hotel or on the website there were some closure times.
I tried to contact the hotel but NOONE REPLIED.
I called the security and THEY HAD NO KEYS.
I WAS LOCKED OUTSIDE FOR 2 HOURS AND OF COURSE I LOST MY TRAIN BACK TO MY CITY.
When FINALLY the receptionist arrived, we asked for a reimbursment of the train ticket that we lost, but he didn't want to talk with us. He told that HE DOESN'T CARE.
CRAZY.
I PAID FOR A SERVICE AND THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT CUSTOMERS.
Just don't go there. Lyon is full of better hotels. Stay away.
Location wise it is within 200m downhill from the metro stop so convenient for rapid transit into Lyon itself. There are a few small supermarkets within 200m that sell the basics. No tea or coffee making facilities although kettle and hot ring provided in each room.
Wired internet connection but no Wi-Fi which is no use for a smart phone.
The bar next door has free secured Wi-Fi so have a beer and browse/email there.
The room for 2 people is extremely small when the (pull out) settee bed is made up (see photo).
However the bed is very comfortable and the bedding is spotlessly white/clean as are the towels.
The shower is a cubicle with fitments that makes it very cramped and I am not a large person.
The water leaks like a sieve around the door so the tiled floor is flooded every time it is used.
Plenty of hot water and great pressure.
A good quality continental breakfast is available for an extra €8pp which is good value and has the usual cereal, tea/coffee, breads, croissant, ham, cheese and yoghurt.
The location has no atmosphere and the night life is non-existent.
Thanks,
Ambrish
