We've been to Auberge du Pere Bise several times and always enjoy it's lovely setting. Avoid the rooms in the "new" wing that is separate from the "main house". The walls in the new wing are thin and you will hear noise from the road and, most likely, the adjacent rooms, even though these rooms are nicely appointed. Some of...

We visited the Auberge for tea, as we have on previous occasions since the view is fantastic and they have a great reputation. This time we found the restaurant staff to be arrogant and uncaring even though we were with our French family who were paying their exorbitant bill. The Head Waiter disappeared off for his break before bringing us...

We stayed here for the second leg of our honeymoon. Upon arriving we were welcomed by some very pleasant front desk staff and soon after enjoyed a drink on the terrace which looks out across the lake - a truly beautiful view. However, things took a turn for the worse when we went for dinner at the hotel's prestigious restaurant....

We stayed here for four days in mid-September and had a marvelous time. The accomodations (we were in Room 18, The Rose Suite) were wonderful. Our room had delightful traditional French decor with a wonderful bathroom -- separate shower -- and a balcony looking over Lac D'Annecy. Service and housekeeping were excellent. A real highlight is the cooking of Mme....

Having stayed in over 3 dozen Relais & Chateaux in six countries this is the best of the lot. The setting is magnificent, the prime location on Lac d'Annecy. The view across the lake is enchanting. Pere Bise is the only hotel in Talloires which is directly on the lake shore (the others are either set back a considerable distance...

My husband and I stayed at this attractive hotel for two nights early in May 2008. Although the hotel was willing to arrange transportation for us for the short 20 minute ride from the train station to Talloires, we found a taxi easily. The staff at the desk and in the restaurant were quite friendly and helpful. Our room was...

This auberge is renowned in the region, with a long history of success and welcoming famous people. I found Mrs. Bise and the staff pleasant, not overly friendly, and reserved, in the tradition of fine boutique hotels catering to a wealthier clientele. My BMW was put to shame by Bentleys and Astons. That being said, don't be afraid to experience...

Called into this most unwelcoming of hotels, along with an old friend who has trouble getting about, intending to enjoy a bottle of wine, a little something to eat and a quiet hour or so overlooking the lake. We were treated with the utmost indifference and certainly no help was offered on an extremely hot day. Instead we went to...

The Auberge du Pere Bise is idylic - on the clear waters of Lake Annecy in the beautiful town of Talloires. Balconies open to lake. Dining good but practice your french and know your dining etiquette to a tee before you eat there. Quite stuffy.
