So the Christiania is old world with all the charms. The whole place is set up to make you feel like your at home or maybe at your grandparents place. Not in a bad way it's not dusty or smells of old people. It's just really warm and enjoyable. The rooms are large and bathrooms quite modern, given all you... More

Nothing to criticize. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was good but a tiny bit odd - do you kinda need to be seated or do you just grab your usual table? Scrambled eggs were fabulous as were the mashed potatoes, even the sausages. And kinda hard to navigate between the tables when lots of people were trying to get to... More

We had a very enjoyable stay here. The hotel is well-located for skiing, shopping and dining. The decor of the hotel is very attractive and there is a nice indoor pool and saunas. They also have convenient ski lockers where you can leave your equipment. The highlight of the stay was the staff who is so friendly and helpful. We... More

Very nice hotel in the centre of Val d'Isere. The room decor seemed a bit dated, but the bathrooms were reefurbished a short while ago. Service is faultless throughout the hotel and it is within walking distance to the ski lifts.

Stayed for 5 nights as part of a tour of the area. Lovely cosy public reception rooms with log fire, well stocked bar and comfortable bedrooms (no kettle). Staff offer impeccable service at all times, even with a 4.00 am departure, nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast and formal dinner was superb, excellent choice for all palates. Although my room... Stayed at the Christiania in March, having booked last minute and couldn't have been happier. The room (Grade B) was perfect - a great mix of cosy alpine but fresh and up to date, with a balcony over-looking the village. Bathroom was also lovely and recently refurbished The photos on the website don't do the rooms justice. The ground floor... More

The Christiania lives up to its promise of home away from home, with exceptional service, a warm, welcoming atmosphere, great food and clean, spacious rooms. We have been coming here for the past four years and have never been disappointed. For those with kids, there is a kid center in the evenings so parents can dine in an adult setting... More
