We stayed the 1st week in January. The staff were nice enough but got the impression they were making it up as they went along. Room had not been vacuumed on arrival, light was broken in bedroom, which despite repeated requests was never fixed. Food was average at best, twice there were no eggs for breakfast, sausages were terrible, hash...

We (2 couples) booked a ski week at the Chamois D'or and after reading the reviews I had some concerns, however these were quickly dispelled as soon as we walked in the door. The staff (Dave, Ben, Luisa & Jonny) were amazing and went out of their way to do anything and everything for us. The Hotel is basic, but...

Dirty bedroom, no plug in bath so crouched under shower at tummy height with torn shower curtain, very lucky to have curtain as friends didn't. Staff couldn't find a plug. Springs coming through bed. No pillow cases on second pillows. Vegetarian menu poor, but did cook a good omelette on 3rd night after 3 vegetarians suggested menu change as tired...

A fantastic week at the Chamois D'Or. Have taken on board other negative reviews and, granted, the rooms were very basic, but this is where the negatives end. It is also worth mentioning that most of this credit goes to SkiVal for their running of the chalet, the negative reviews may be more centred around summer months when the chalet...

I'm going to start by saying that I booked the Chamois for a large ski group (43) , and yes I was concerned having read some of the 'older' reviews, but needn't have been; the recent reviews are the ones to take notice of, last couple of years really. I checked with the tour operator (Ski Val) who provided me...

I agree with some of the reviews for this place however some people have been too hard. I agree that the negatives for this place are that the rooms are small and in need of an update. That said, they are not unlivable. I think if you're the type of person that intends to spend every evening relaxing in the...

I have stayed in much nicer ski challets but i would like to say that this one was still good. It is what it is, you get what you pay for especially in Val. Staff very friendly, food ok, rooms could do with some modernisation but clean. Could do with an overhall but then it would probably double to price....

First of all, my wife and I aren't too picky about hotels. We'll stay in a decent, clean Motel-6 (budget chain for the non-Americans reading this) and give it a good review if it warrants it. However, we were very unimpressed with this place. Keep in mind that we were there in the summer, just passing thru on our drive...

After reading some reviews about the accomodation we were not sure what to expect. However as soon as we arrived the friendly staff quickly endeared themselves to our party. Nothing was too much trouble during our stay and any requests were dealt with quickly. Special mention should be made of Tom who dealt with all our requests. Rooms were small...

We recently stayed at the Chamois D'Or in Val D'Isere run by Ski Val. Rooms we had all had swing doors for the bathrooms which greatly inconvenienced as nobody has any privacy. The shower cubicle in the bathroom is very small and anyone of any size will struggle to turn around. Beds are small, and as far as I could...
