The location, the rooms, the facilities, the food, the staff, all are all incredible and faultless. Even though they have very few British visitors (no English sub-titles on signs, menus, newsletters etc.) the staff are very lovely and helpful. It is also fun with a phrase book and Google Translate to try and interpret the menu and book your evening...

We have just returned from a family break at the Forsthaus Auerhahn. It is simply stunning in every way. The pure fresh mountain air, spectacular scenery, the warmest of welcomes, luxury accommodation and delectable cuisine and delightful staff (where nothing is too much trouble and the children are made to feel important too). If you want to get "completely away...

Lovely hotel, ridiculously pretty. Room was very clean, modern yet cosy with wonderful views toward the forest and beyond. The staff were friendly and very helpful (as neither of us speak German). Would definitely recommend this hotel.

We are used to stay in the Schwarzwald and usually go to the Hinterzarten Region. This hotel is rather secluded with no amenities around it, but that is just what we were looking for. It is a 30 min drive from the last intersection up winding roads. No direct access to the B500 Schwarzwaldhochstrasse. Absolutely fabulous and spectacular hiking trails...

We spent another short (4n) holiday at the Auerhahn with three children (1-8-9). This time, we had the upper level Kuckuck family room with 2 bedrooms. It was nice and spacy with a north looking terrace with partial view on the valley. Great sitting corner to play games. Again, the service was great and the organisation spotless.

We have been here for One week in a two room Appartement with small kitchen and a large balcony. The food in the Hotel is really great. We did several hikes around here, all quite easy and enjoyed the Pool and the spa. Since it's at the end of a small valley it is very quiet. Super location for relaxing

We just had a 5 night good time with our family of 4. The hotel is really run with dedication and warmth by the three generations of the Zepf. Both the gastronomy as well as the welness amenities are high level. Both breakfast buffet as the evening dinner are well looked after. We especially liked having drink and dinner on...

The hotel strap line "where the road ends your holiday begins" couldn't be more apt. After a 6 mile drive into the valley we arrived at a this beautiful hotel in its stunning location in the depths of the Swartz Wald (Black Forest). With no through traffic it is such a peaceful setting and the only sound you wake up...

By the end of the road, in a secluded valley, this hotel was a quite unexpected gem. Everything was in perfect order, rooms nice and clean, everyone with their own balcony. Spa was excellent, and had many choices for any guests looking for a relaxing moment. Food was plenty! German style, which is what you get in Germany of course...
