The hotel is enclosed by forest and is very quiet. It has a rustic feel, yet all modern amenities. For one night stay the place was very good. The restaurant was OK, typical German fare. Communication with the stuff was limited as we don't speak German and they didn't speak English. Overall positive experience.

We booked two rooms for five of us to coincide with the Freudenstadt Christmas markets. The hotel is only 3 km out of Freudenstadt but much better value than hotels in the city centre. Rooms were fine, breakfast was standard German fare, would certainly return.

Visited the restaurant on several occasions whilst staying in a nearby hotel. The food is very reasonably priced and comes in generous portions. It's a slightly eccentric place, the menu is a mixture of steaks, chicken wings, curry wurst and schnitzel - with an Obelix eating challenge thrown in, but don't let that put you off. You can feed a...

Fortunately I slept only one night!! the rooms are very minimal, the bathroom is small and I waited for the hot water in the morning 15 minutes. The radiator in the room was turned off and there were an electric radiator and an electric blanket!!! The breakfast was meager! Why two stars? only for the position (surrounded by the forest)...

It is a family Hotel kind hidden in the Dark Forest. The owner was extremely lovely and gave us a lot of attention. She prepared us a incredible breakfast, lent us bicycles to go to the city center through the Dark Forest, taught us how to get there, and did a lot of others little things that makes a incredible...

Very nice quiet hotel, set in the woods in a tiny village. Close to walking trails. Rooms were clean but the decor was a bit quirky, bathroom very small, but clean. Breakfast was the usual continental, ham cheese rolls, yoghurt, boiled eggs etc. The restaurant was a seperate buisness from the hotel but shares the building. We found the meals...

We stayed here for 1 night on our recent return from a trip down to Southern Germany. It took some finding as my sat nav was about a quarter of a mile out but just ask at local hotels and they will direct you within minutes. The owner had cleared a barn out for our bikes adjacent to the car...

This is a good(ish) hotel. The breakfast is simple, the rooms comfortable and clean and the staff helpful (speaks very basic English only). The best attribute of this place, apart from the location, is the kitchen. If I ever go back to this region, I will most certainly eat here again!!! Only complaint: shower seemed to have only 3 settings;...

Very clean hotel in a delightful place; next to the wood and to nature paths. Huge, warm, well finished room in a very peaceful and quiet village. Very pleasant garden with a pond. It's a dream come true.

We booked in to stay for one night on our biking tour through Germany, and what a good find it was. Secluded location, somewhere safe to lock up the bikes, nice room and an excellent restaurant. I had ribs, my mate had a steak, and both were excellent.
