Lovely hotel in a gorgeous old building, set on a large square right in the centre of Heidelberg so it's really convenient as well. We were visiting for the Christmas markets, and a large part of the stalls / activities was in the square directly outside, or within a couple of streets from the hotel.

We were fortunate to spend our Christmas holiday here this year, and couldn't be more pleased. The location can't be beat- right across from the Heiliggeistkurche- on the Marktplatz. The staff are friendly and helpful; the breakfast plentiful. The hotel itself is charming and full of personality, which I would expect and want in a hotel of its stature &...

My daughter, my sister and I stayed at this excellent hotel at the weekend. We visited Heidelberg to see the Christmas Markets and this hotel is perfectly situated, in the heart of the Old Town on a pedestrianised street. The hotel has kept its old original charm.... some walls have wood panelling. We stayed in a very comfortable room at...

This place is perfectly situated in the middle of everything. It is on a pedestrian road, so you need to park in a nearby underground lot. The exterior is gorgeous, the main level is adorable. There is a pretty popular restaurant on the first floor. You need to walk through the restaurant to get to the rooms. There is a...

You cannot beat the location of this hotel in Heidelberg - smack in the middle of everything you'll want to see and do. Great service from the front desk staff with check-in and directions to sites. I had an economy room that was very small but very clean and well kept, and more than adequate for one person. The breakfast...

We were on a Viking river boat tour of the city and this was the place we had lunch. It was surprisingly good. The service equaled the quality of food. The hotel was gracious in allowing us to use the hotel services while we had our free time to explore this beautiful town.

This was our second time at the Zum Ritter and I can say it won't be our last! We chose this hotel because it is central to anything you might want to do while in Heidelberg. Although the building is old, rooms are modern. Located in the middle of everything, which makes it noisy at night. Rooms around the courtyard get kitchen noise, rooms on the side street get late night noise and early morning noise (people dragging suitcases on cobblestone street, garbage pickup). Very clean, comfortable. Breakfast is too expensive at 15 Euros.
