This hotel was booked for me by University of Heidelberg. I heard that a long time ago it used to be a decent hotel. Unfortunately it appears to have been taken over by a slum lord. I have stayed in at least 30 different German hotels over the years and at least 100 in Europe. This was the worst in...

I didn't need anything fancy - just a comfortable room to stay that wasn't right next to the train station and not in the heart of the old city. Hotel Kohler suited my needs perfectly. I didn't need any additional services that larger, chain hotels may offer. WiFi worked well in the breakfast room (after breakfast was finished, naturally) and...

good place, nice, clean, no internet. well no free internet, since in Germany you pay for every thing, no unlimited like in the States. But a nice location, you can walk into the center of the town in a few minutes. Is Germany!! nothing is wrong!! most of the times,,,, A+ , Tip,, I went to a local restaurant after...

We asked our conference (EMBL) organizer to reserve a room in Hotel Kohler for 5 consecutive days. Upon arrival, the unsmiling elderly gentleman (his glasses resting about 1" above his ears) at the front desk shared the great news: no reservation for us could be found. He however said that he could give us rooms for the first night. We...

I couldn't ask for much more from these guys. Good service, nice location, good rooms, clean and good. Breakfast was enough for me - bread with some stuff on it. Tea/coffee, juice. If you need to eat a whole kitchen - don't check-in to a hotel! :P

A family-run hotel very close to the old town. The staff is very kind and all speak good English. Unfortunately the hotel is extremely basic. WiFi is available only by the reception with no privacy. The single en suite was clean and sufficient but the bed was made of 3 '80 style sponge cushions with a feather pillow. Very uncomfortable....

Never has a hotel service made me so angry that I have to write a review about them. It was a last minute booking for me to reserve hotel Köhler and I didn't notice that the last checked in time was at 9:30 PM. When I showed up to at the door at 10:30 PM, the owner of the hotel...

This is a family run hotel. Though most of the staffs are friendly there is one typical guy who is actually rude! I almost wanted to punch him on the face! I was there in June and it was hot. Really hot. 34 degrees (C). And guess what they did not have air con. I could not sleep for many...

I 've been here for one night only, but I was surprised by the Hotel host's politeness and goodwill, room cleanness and, especially, elegant German-like breakfast with boiled eggs and a coffee in a beautiful coffeepot with a hot milk provided. The city's historical center is about 5 minutes walk. And this is for about 60 EUR. Highly recommend!

A hotel in a 19th century building near the main train station in Heidelberg, fairly recently renovated. Most things were OK but I didn't particularly enjoy my stay because of two reasons. First I was given a room with the head of the bed right next to the lift shaft so you could hear the clunk-click of the lift every...
