We stayed for 2 nights and found the hotel to be lovely. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful without exception, our room clean, spacious, and very quiet, and the breakfast wonderful. We were within walking distance of the main Christmas market as well as many restaurants and shops. Also public transport was easily accessible. A great place to explore Nuremberg from on our first visit.
Very good hotel in a very good place, near to center and to Justice Department with room 600. Very clean (follow all the covid measures) with nice breakfast . All the staff was very much helpful. Value for money
This was our first visit to Nuremberg. I researched a lot of hotels before making my decision. I am glad l picked this hotel. I cannot comment on the breakfast as we never ate in at the hotel. The check in and out was painless. They also provide a map of the area which we found great. The room itself is spacious and has a mini bar which is very reasonably priced. The beds are very comfortable and you get a duvet each (even for double bed). Which we actually liked. Transport links are easy if you need them. The tram stop is 2 minutes walk away. There is also a supermarket with a cafe 2 minutes in the opposite direction. The centre itself is easily within walking distance. There is so much to see and do within the surrounding area. We were specifically visiting for the Xmas markets. You can if needed get a Nuremberg Card which once activated lasts 48 hours and gets to access to certain museums and all of the public transport it costs about €30 each. We will definitely be rebooking this hotel again.…
It was the most frustrating service I've ever had. :-( I was supposed to arrive to Nuremberg and stay at this hotel for 3 nights. 2 days before the arrival I got really unwell and unfortunately had to move my flight to another date. Free cancellation at the hotel wasn't possible anymore, however I tried to call the hotel and explain them the situation since I was really ill and couldn't arrive. Surprisingly I was told that it was my problem and I could have cancelled this for free when I had the chance to... Although I was completely shocked I tried to ask if other options available. They didn't have any rooms available on other dates and when I asked for a possibility for at least a reduced cancellation fee, the administrator answer was again that it was my problem and I will be charged fully. I tried to explain again but she didn't want to listen and the conversation was over.…
Hotel Burgschmiet resting on a quiet street near the old town, offers very nice basic rooms which have comfortable beds, good design and cleanliness of the rooms, great breakfast with a big variety of offerings, hot and cold, and a very helpful and friendly staff. We did enjoy our stay there although the carpets could use some sprucing up. The biggest problem was not knowing it would be necessary to reserve a parking space in order to have one, so we faced a very unpleasant afternoon of trying to find parking on the street (nearly impossible). After finding a temporary spot, the very helpful desk clerk offered a paper clock to show time, so the car would be ok. However, just then, a permanent spot opened up, I moved the car, but before II could maneuver to the new place, someone else parked there and another person took the space where I had been! Ultimately we parked several streets away, still in a temporary designation. If you do stay here and have a car, make sure to reserve a parking place.…
This is a great little hotel, with spacious rooms and comfy beds. The hotel was very clean. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful too. Location is just outside of the old city wall, so is a very short (5 mins roughly) to the old town and nearest shops / bars. There is a tram stop around 5 mins away which provides a direct journey to the Documentation Centre museum. The hotel breakfast was fresh, varied and delicious. My only minor criticisms are that there were no tea / coffee facilities in the rooms, however, the helpful staff did loan us a kettle and cups! Also there is no bar or communal area within the hotel, so if you got back early for the evening you had no choice but to sit in your room. Overall it was a really lovely stay and I was really impressed with the value for money too.…
We spent two nights here because it was close to the old city and walking distance to the Christmas markets. Checking in was good and efficient and although we checked in after 3pm we were informed our room was still not available, so we had to wait another 30 minutes for it to be ready. Once we got to our room, we were disappointed. We requested a room for 3 people and we got a room with 3 beds. 2 single beds and a fold out sofa. This was not the sleeping arrangements we requested, nor paid for. However as our stay was only for 2 nights, we decided to accept it. Big mistake. The beds were hard. Extremely hard. So hard that I could not sleep on it. After 1 night my back was killing me and I had to take Advil to try and numb the pain. Even now, 2 days later, my back is still killing me. My wife is exactly to same and she slept in one of the single beds. The curtains in the room were insufficient. On one side of the room that had 3 windows, there was only curtains for 2 windows. The room was clean though. The bathroom looked relatively new and it was fine. The breakfast was amazing. A lot of good quality food to choose from. The staff were also very helpful and it was the staff and the great breakfast that gives this 3 points.…
Firstly, don’t be fooled. Based on the service, the quality and variety of breakfast and the size of the rooms, this hotel is not 3 but at least 4 star in our opinion. Location is 8 Minutes walk from the town square and Christmas markets. The room incl the designer bathroom, the special upmarket bedding and mattresses and our views of the old town from the highest floor (level 5) makes this the best value for money and one of the best run hotels we have ever stayed at. Our highest possible recommendation. Photo shows Christmas tree in the foyer, right next to the free home baked jar of Christmas cookies from the owner, the breakfast room with smoked salmon and a superb tea selection and .... I could go on. Just book it.
Lovely, comfortable 3 star hotel with friendly, considerate and very helpful staff, with the reception speaking very fluent English (although I speak good German and was more than happy to take the opportunity to exercise my linguistic abilities). I found the buffet breakfast was very good and the bed very comfortable. The hotel is just across the road from the entrance to the altstadt (old town) and it is ideally placed to visit many of the museums, particularly, the toy and childrens' museum and The Albrecht Duerer House and life museum. To reach the main train station one can walk through the town (30 mins) or board the the number 4, 6, or 8 tram (strassenbahn). All day train, tram and bus tickets can be purchased for unlimited any transport hop-on-and-off rides around the city for 12.30 euros.…
Excellant choice. Just outside the old city walls. Room was very nice and bed was comfortable. Breakfast was excellant. Only comment was the breakfast room was a little small. Desk staff was very nice.
