The Schloss Ort was booked for a pre-cruise departure stay. It was one of the last available hotels, but not our first choice. I am pleased that we didn't get our first choice because the Ort was fantastic! The room was like an apartment it was so spacious, a large bedroom with a separate sitting area, and wonderful views around the hotel. The bedding was great and the bathroom was well appointed. Another treat was the breakfast, a very nice, fresh selection, and very well-staffed. Do not pass up this hotel!

We wanted to be in the old town and picked this hotel due to the location. What a great find! Yes parking is tight, but you know that if you want a hotel anywhere in this old part of town on this peninsula. Great service on our arrival, with the young receptionist coming out to guide us where best to park the car. The hotel is old but nicely renovated, with boutique artustic style, not too much, quite simple but effective. The room was large with windows on 3 sides providing a view to the Inn river. Spacious and clean, with free wifi. Breakfast on the balcony over the river in the early morning sunshine was wonderful, with nice choices in the buffet for every taste and good qualify food. Waiter/waitress service is a bit hit & miss, which we thought may be down to using local students, but they were very polite and tried hard. Would we come back? Most definitely !

My parents-in-law gave a present for my husband's birthday, a 2 days 1 night holiday for their son, me and them in Passau. They booked this hotel for us, 10-11 September 2017. Room : We didnt try to find out what type our room was, but the room was so comfortable and romantic. Maybe one day before was so full, so the room for my parents-in-law wasn't ready yet when we arrived. These are my other reviews about this hotel. Location : Great. Recommended. Our room views were not to the Inn River, but its not bad at all. We were on 3rd floor, so the view was also fine. Its also near to the Altstadt. We had a great dinner in a restaurant really near the hotel. 2 days 1 night we didnt use our car surrounding the city, neither bus. Its even great to have a roundtrip by walking. Room aminities : As a 4* hotel with not many rooms, their provide top aminities in the room. In our room, when we opened the door, we saw small wardrobe on the right, and guest toilet on the left. Then modern living room with another wardrobe (we didnt even use these wardrobes because this room was too big for us), working table, wastebasket, standing lamp. Over all, the living room was great. In the bed room (the position is in the middle-between living room and bathroom) we had TV, telephone, another standing lamp, romantic style bed or whatever you can say it. Its just so comfortable. In our bathroom, we had shower and separated bath up and of course toiletry. The bathroom is so modern and large. Food and the Restaurant : The Restaurant was good and their staff were friendly. The location of the Restaurant is facing to the Inn River. Was a great panorama when we had our breakfast. But the food was not as that interesting. They didnt have many choices of food. Also, they dont have good place for parking. Wifi was gratis/free. Staffs : Reception/ist were nice and friendly. When we checked in, we saw only 1 person on duty but he was really helpful and friendly. He even helped the housekeeping staff's job when we asked for another toilet paper. And he helped the waiter in the restaurant. When we checked out, the woman as the receptionist was also so warm and friendly. The staffs in the restaurant were also friendly. Overall, this hotel is recommended.

A popular place to stay. We had the newly renovated Junior Suite (no other rooms available) Very tastefully decorated. Little things missing chairs in bedroom to place clothes on. Separate lavatory but no hand basin - yet hand towel provided! Mini bar but only single glass of differing types! Breakfast very good with lots of choice. Would stay again

The location of this hotel is near perfect - facing the River Inn and the closest building to the confluence of the two rivers. The staff were so good, a really good team who worked well together. Rooms were ok and the management is obviously investing much in trying to upgrade them; to this extent, they seem to have largely done the first floor but still have a way to go on the second. However, to many Brits and Americans in particular, bathrooms are key and the two rooms we experienced \(having requested a change of room after our first night), the bathroom facilities were really tiny and very cramped. Further in each case, the shower screens leaked like sieves so that we had floods most evenings. The other area that the hotel needs to address is the lack of a safe in each room. For various reasons, we chose to take a large amount of cash on holiday but with no safe in the room and an unwillingness by management to put valuables into the main hotel safe, we found ourselves in an uneasy situation, particularly with the publicity concerning large amounts of unemployed refugees in town (although once we arrived, we saw little evidence of this). In summary therefore, a nice hotel, a really good team who clearly had the happiness of the guests close to their hearts but the while the common parts were good (lovely breakfast), the bathroom facilities were not quite up to scratch.

Where do I start..We stayed here for 9 nights and it's the place to be when you are staying in Passau😉😉 A big hug and thanks to Mrs.Degenhart and Mr.Degenhart for their warmth welcome and they were so caring for every little details which made our stay here magical.. The views we had from our room was just breathtaking over the river Inn and all the room set up is just so perfect that you will want to stay here eternally.. A special thanks to Tomack, Matheaus,Jasmine for their support during our stay here. The hotel is only a few minutes walk to all major sightseeing possibilities here and also to very good shopping centres😉😉😉 The level of service and caring attitude prevailing here make this place a unique and authentic 7 star hotel 👑👑👑👑👑👑👑 So when you are planning to visit Passau please make sure that you book this hotel. Once again our heartfelt thanks to Mr/s Degenhart and wish them lots of success in their beautiful hotel. We will be back soon... Cheers

This lovely little hotel is perfectly situated in the oldest part of Passau. It is in an historical building with lots of character. Shops, restaurants and all the sights are within easy walking distance. Really great spot. It was very difficult to find, however, even with the GPS. The rooms are quite interesting and unique, but the furnishings seem cobbled together.

Nice Hotel, a good breakfast and central location. You get a paper at the reception and with this you are able to park your car close to the Hotel( we had never a problem to find a parking close to the Hotel) . We had a room with a fantastic view above the river.

We only stayed one night here but loved the hotel. We had a very large room on the second floor which had an extra daybed for our son to use. The master bedroom had beds that were adjustable in height which was cool. We loved the location right on the river and next to the park which has a fun playground. The breakfast in the morning was very tasty and filling. Also the staff were very friendly and helpful. We hope to stay here again. The only negative was the wifi was slow and you had to resign in frequently.
