We stayed here for only one night before boarding a boat and bike trip but to be honest I’d have stayed here happily for a week. Lovely hotel, an old building which looks out onto a busy small square , right next to the Paulus Kirche so incredibly central. I was given a free upgrade room . Comfortable, clean, really excellent breakfast and friendly staff. Would happily recommend
It was very cosy hotel with very helpful receptionist. Location is convenient because is in the center of the Old town. Nice restaurants with terraces and siting outside, coffee places with nice music right behind the corners. Breakfast was richer we expected. Highly recommend this hotel, we stayed two nights.
This hotel is situated in the old town where you can walk to visit all the wonderful sights. Fabulous bedrooms! Got a complimentary upgrade! Staff all professional yet very friendly and delighted to help in any way they could. Complimentary drink given on arrival which was a wonderful touch. Lovely breakfast to set you up for the day. Terrific value for money. I would definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to returning.
I changed rooms twice as the Wifi signal was so miserable. Ended up working one night in their breakfast area because didn't have internet anywhere else in the building. When we called IT support they said "Well, it was always like that in this building".
Everything a hotel should be. Conventional extremely clean room, excellent location, nice management staff. Would stay there again in an instant. Can walk to the river in seconds and to cathedrals in minutes.
The location of the hotel is where it has to be if you want to look around. Everything is nearby in this beautiful town. Hotel was built in the 14. century, you feel and see it as you walk on the floor. But it does not feel too small, rooms are rather spacious. Staff are nice, vegan options are also available for breakfast. All the advantages can be disadvantages same time, as the rooms do not have air conditioning. So on hot sommer days you can choose, either you open the windows for fresh air but will not sleep due to loud noises from the street or you try to sleep in 30 degrees.. your choice.
Stayed two nights at this hotel before heading off on a bike and cruise trip down the Danube. Pros: great downtown location close to shops and river walk, very good breakfasts, clean and comfortable room Cons: spotty internet, no directions for room numbers at stairs or elevator to locate one’s room for the first time, very poor lighting in the stairwell, and my biggest gripe is the key card must be put into a slot by the door in order to operate lighting AND outlets. Some hotels are finally getting past this usage, and I’d like to see this one dispense with this also. We failed to realize until spending a few hours out of our room that the phone charger we had set up while we were out didn’t charge our phone because of this, so we got a second card and left one of them in the slot at all times.…
Wonderful location for exploring the old city, going to restaurants, or biking along the Danube. Staff is very friendly and helpful, especially Frieda! The breakfast is well organized and well stocked with all types of foods in the large buffet. everything was clean and comfortable. The rooftop terrace and welcome drinks were added bonuses. We were on the top floor, so it was a bit warm if we kept the windows closed, but since school was not yet in session, noise was not an issue. I think that is the same for any hotel in the old city. It was nice to have a river view and a sky light, yet darken the room entirely with the blackout shades. A great value!
The Hotel Passauer Wolf had an entrance off the Danube quay as well as an entrance off the Altstadt pedestrian zone. The hotel was a quick taxi ride from the station and very German, with efficiently designed, comfortable rooms. Towels were thick and luxurious. Though we did not specifically book a room with a Danube view, we nonetheless had a partial view of the river. The bed was comfortable with individual quilts. We slept well, even with the window open at night. The room had a fan, which we placed near the window. There was no air conditioning. Breakfast was EUR 9,--/day per person. What a superb value: huge buffet, wide variety of coffee, tea, and juices, even Easter eggs for the holiday, The hotel has a lift, but there are still partial stairways. The lift does not go to the top floor. My wife has trouble going up and down stairs and we were booked on the top floor. The hotel staff were extremely understanding, courteous, and accommodating and managed to rebook our room to a more accessible floor (even though there were still a few steps involved). This despite the hotel being completely booked over the Easter holiday. I can't overstate how grateful we were. We had a great stay at this very German hotel and would definitely stay here again. It was a true find and an excellent value. When it was time to take our luggage to the Viking River Ship, it was parked directly across the street from the hotel. What a great happenstance.…
Our accommodations were very roomy. The hotel is next to both the old town and modern stores, and right by the church and gate to old town. On the roof you can see the Danube river and all the river ships. It's a perfect place to stay in Passau. Our ship, for its boarding location, required us to taxi - and it was under 15 Euro for the two of us. Passau is a a more economical and a much more charming place to stay than Munich, if you're cruising the Danube,
