Missed this quaint place. Owner, Herr is very hospitable, warm & cute ! He even treated us to his home made wine. Room was comfortable and clean. It needs to have a shower curtain in the bathroom though.

Loved staying here, good location, very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was excellent and Mr. Hocher made us rolls for our early departure. He recommended a nice restaurant with a good beer and it was the best beer we had in Germany. I would recommend staying here.

when i think of rothenburg and germany, i think of hotel spitzweg. The host is extremely friendly and treats his guests like family! since i am a vegetarian, he make me special breakfasts and every day my father would go for a run, and he would tell him the best places to go. He always gave us advice on what...

The hotel is centrally located in Rothenburg, esp for those who need to be close to the train station. I got room #21, which was on top floor which had a slanted ceiling, was spacious and very quiet. The bathroom is very large and there is a small area by the entrance. The owners are very cheerful and pleasant. They...

This really was one of the best places we stayed at on our trip. The hotel was clean and well appointed, while maintaining all of the charm you would expect from a hotel in Rothenburg. The owner was friendly and engaging, and went out of his way to make us feel welcome. Breakfast offered a fairly typical selection of meats,...

The place is just charming! The decor is great. It looks and feels like it should, like a bed in breakfast in a village from an age since past. Check out the "deconstructed" coo coo clock in the dining room. I could just watch this clock's movements all day. The location is perfect, but that said, anything inside the walls...

My husband and I have stayed in this traditional hotel several times. We also have taken our grown children (20's) on a family vacation and stayed here. To be honest we love this hotel and the owner, Herr Hockner. The hotel is lovely with large bathrooms and comfortable beds and very clean. The hotel is easy to find (look at...

This hotel reminds me of the story about an old maid who lived in a shoe house. Authentic and traditional. The house was built in 1536. It escaped the wars and the turbulent years. So, the wood trusses on the ceiling and the walls are original. It was converted into a hotel in 1984. The amenities, however, are modern. There...

We have been there twice, once in July and back for Christhmas. Nice rooms, with traditional decoration. And excellent breakfast. The host is very present, everytime you need. He made us sandwiches the las day. Good location, also. In 5 minutes you're at the town hall by feet. Great +: you don't have to worry about tha car, they have...

Very central to Rothenburg, and great that there is car parking on site. We felt that we were not given as much attention from the owner as we had been lead to believe would occur from other comments, and found out the following day why this had been the case -- he had been scrabbling around to find & have...
