Clean and reasonably comfortable hotel at the Free University, Berlin. Because it is so far from the center, I don't think there is any reason to stay here unless you have business at the university or in the neighborhood. As others have accurately said, the furnishing is more or less like a university dormitory, but that's not a terrible thing. The bed was comfortable and the room was reasonably large.

The one major negative was the shower — which is your proverbial hotel shower from hell. The temperature can go from cold to scalding hot in a second, so there's no way to comfortably shower. You have to be constantly changing the temperature control. And the water pressure is quite bad too.

The one surprising positive was the breakfast buffet, which has more choices than almost any other European hotel I have stayed in, spread out over two rooms — and the quality is good. A surprising omission is the total absence of a toaster, which is a flaw they really should fix.

Overall this place is really clean with a calming atmosphere. The hotel gives a lot of opportunity's to stay as much as possible climate neutral. But the fitnessroom and sauna is not good maintained and visiting with a dog makes it impossible to eat in the breakfast room. (Sadly) You need to evate to the room next to the breakfast room. The breakfast itself is good and has a large range of food. The connection is also pretty good but the restaurants near the hotel are not the best, so you need to eat in town.

We were booked into the Seminaris Campus Hotel during a workshop in Berlin and we really enjoyed how the hotel is nestled into the quiet area of Dahlem, which can easily be reached by U-Bahn from the inner city center. The rooms were nice and the staff really helpful. There are some nice restaurants in the vicinity and you can jogg in the alleys.

Worst Service i have ever experienced.
Hotel was pre paid through 3rd party booking service, upon arrival in the Self check in counter I had to pay for the full reservation again. Since it was late and we needed our room I chose to pay and deal with it later. When confronting the front desk I was met by 2 arrogant guys who couldn't care less to help with the problem and told me that they only had an invoice from the 3rd party booking. I showed them my mastercard transaction and said that they could check the Lobby camera to see that exact time on the check in day I would be in the lobby entering my card details on the Check in Ipad but no help was provided. Afterwards I contacted the Hotel through website with no response so I have just been left with paying twice for a hotel room. I am for sure never using Seminaris ever again.

I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. Location wise, the hotel is in an upscale part of Berlin and it is a bit out of the hustle and bustle of the downtown core. However, everything is easily accessible. I had several meals at the hotel and the service was quite good. My only suggestion, take your shampoo (and perhaps soap) with you!

I attended a short conference at this facility in early June of 2012. I was extremely impressed with this hotel - especially in terms of value for money. For less than 100 euros per night this hotel provided a small but very pleasant room that included a very comfortable bed, television with lots of channels, great shower, etc.The breakfast (included) was excellent with a wide variety of hot and cold items, and there were modest changes every morning.

Several of the conference meals were served buffet style in the main restaurant, and I enjoyed the range of salads and other cold items. The hot buffet items were tasty.

There is a small bar at the front which was a nice corner to have a beverage in the evenings. Once again, the prices seemed quite reasonable.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They greeted you with a smile no matter what time of day you approached the desk - and they always solved the problem or had the information.

The hotel is quite some distance from any of the major attractions, but it is very close to some components of the Free University. There is a subway station a five minute walk from the hotel, and there are a few nice restaurants in easy walking distance.

I would like to recommend this hotel.

Alas, I cannot. It is beautifully built and designed by star architect Helmut Jahn, nicely located in Dahlem and conveniently placed next to the departments of the nearby University. The rooms are bright and spatious, and from the layout everything seems to be right. When I will now cut my long-time relationship (with several tens of nights of stays) with this hotel, it is because the management is awkward. Often, the recention is often understaffed and unfriendly.

The pivotal moment, however, was when I had booked a hotel rooms for two nights to get come work done. I arrived earlier than the check-in time, so I asked whether a room was available. When I learned that this would only be true late in the afternoon, I tried to cancel the already paid room via Booking.com, but could not. Either way, the next day, I came and asked for my room. What had happened is that they had already closed that booking and have given my already paid for room to someone else. What followed was not a clear communication about a tough - and in some ways unfair - policy, after all, I had paid for the room (overall an amount of 178 Euros). What had happened is that the room was doublebooked, which is what airlines do as well, but at least they are honest about it.

Instead, I was lied to, it was claimed that Booking.com would not pay for the room anyway (blatantly untrue, as can easily be verified) or that the room was not given away (equally untrue). All this was communicated by a person who had not only no manners of letting people make a point, but he made an impression of being grabbed from the street and placed behind the counter. All this was only completed by a whining how much Booking.com would take for its bookings. This level of dishonesty, unprofessional and unfriendly communication was just too much to bear.

So thanks, but no thanks.

The situation was quite unusual due to Covid-19 and its measures.
The breakfast in particular was a bit hectic. But the food is very good.

The hotel & conference centre is beautifully designed and provides lots of natural light.
Breakfast offered lots of choice
The rooms were reasonably sized but the one pillow and duvet that didn't cover the double bed was inadequate. There was a second pillow in the cupboard.
The towels were thin and small and other than soap, toiletries were non existent. There was a hairdryer.
The desk was of a good size and the internet worked well.
