We stayed here for 2 nights in March 2012. The hotel was a little out of the way for us. It was a good walk to some of the things we wanted to see. Had to take taxi. The staff were not the most attentive. The buffet breakfast was wonderful. The rooms were big but lacked character. The only thing...

4-day break with my husband and 14 year old son. Delighted by the reception, helpfulness in recommending where to go, what to see, booked tour or Reichstag for us on arrival. We arrived early, room wasn't ready but we were given a complimentary upgrade - bath, shower, spotless, full sofa bed for son, tea & coffee facilities, free WiFi (fast)....

The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and the staff were very helpful. The location was excellent - very close to Museum Island and Unter den Linden. Also easy to get to underground and bus stations. We ate in the Nicolai Viertel - about 10 minutes walk away- where there is a good range of restaurants...

Excellent location just off the Unter den Linden and close to the Nikolai quarter. The rooms were spacious and clean with walk-in showers (our room also had a heat lamp in the ceiling - great when getting out of the shower). Arrived on my birthday. Receptionist picked up my birth date on check-in and 10 minutes later a knock at...

This is probably the cleanest hotel I have every stayed in! I stayed here on business in March 2012. The hotel is close to the Gendarmeplatz . the most beautiful square in Berlin and just a short walk from a great shopping street, Freidrichestrasse, and Checkpoint Charlie. The room was bright and clean and comfortable but lacked a few details....

Love the rocking chair in the room. Without it, the room would be stark. The hotel is in a wonderful location. The staff is friendly, but seriously understaffed. We did have free internet access too, which was great. Skip the food.

Fab hotel. Easy to get to. High on chic low on arrogance. Seriously comfortable place for business and leisure travellers alike. The food is ok but hopelessly overpriced...the room service delivery charge is ridiculous but you can't complain when you have a rocking chair in your room. Yes the hotel IS a little pricey but ABSOLUTELY WORTH EVERY PENNY.

This hotel is ranked in the top 20 hotels in Berlin (out of nearly 700) and rightfully so. Excellent central location, helpful staff and one of the best rooms I ever had the pleasure to stay in. The value for money, considering it's a main european city, is outstanding! Would recommend this one without hesitation!

this is a good, functional comfortable hotel with no frills. Modern decor, a bit kitchy, but ok. Strong points are helpful staff and location without which it would be a very average hotel. For a business visit it was fine. I found no free wifi and was not very happy with charges and constant logging on procedure.

Conveniently located a few minutes away from the Unter den Linden, the hotel looks new or recenlty refurbished. Service is warm and professional, rooms are not excessively big but comfortable (big shower, BTW, and really confortable mattress). Being inspired by JFK, you can find anywhere the famouse rocking chair. Wifi is free (you pay only if you need a lot...

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
