This is a great hotel. It is blocks from Checkpoint Charlie, the Berlin Wall, Pariserplatz, Alexanderplatz, around the corner from Gendarmenmarkt... Great if you like walking to things, but not having to walk far. Underground parking available, U-Bahn and bus within a block or two.

Price was reasonable and in a convenient location close to two subway lines. There are shops and cafes close by, and some of the major tourist sights can be reached by foot. The rooms are clean and decor modern, though some people who are used to larger spaces may find the room and bathroom small. Wireless internet works fine and...

The place is in the center of the city, very near the Charlotte strasse metro station, Checkpoint Charlie museum. Very polite receptionist. The prices are acceptable - 50 euro for double room, which is clean and cozy. You can take room with view to the street or to the inner yard. I prefer the street. The room has air conditioning,...

I would not rate this hotel as a 4-star. Lobby is nothing to speak of. Staff was OK. There is only 1 elevator but that did not affect us. The hotel is stark. The room was very small. 2 of us had carry-on pieces of luggage and there was no where to unpack anything (or to even store our bags)....

Disappointing experience no 4 star hotel ranking worthy. You spend more than you receive back. The entrance already has a lack of appeal and doesnt show that you are in a four star hotel. Only one elevator so you have to be patient when its busy. Staff is not very well in English language and that is already a challenge....

We stayed here between Christmas & New Year 2016 and the hotel was in a great location, the rooms were clean and had everything you would expect for a city centre hotel. The location was great for all the tourist attractions with most things within a 15 minute walk. The Christmas markets were on and were only a 5 min...

This is a wonderful property. The English-speaking staff was very helpful and the rooms were cozy and clean, Transportation was arranged by the hotel staff and cabs arrived within minutes, I would recommend this for business or leisure travel.

I stayed here for five nights recently. Things I liked about the hotel: -- The room (overlooking the interior courtyard) was small but clean, and it was QUIET. The heating system was silent. -- The bed was comfortable and the curtains were effective in blocking the daylight. -- The WiFi was fast, and worked well throughout the hotel. -- The...

We had a superior room, very spacious with nice bathroom with bath. and a coffee machine in the room. Everything was ok except some matters which should not occur in a 4-star hotel, e.g. empty soap dispenser through our whole stay, stuffy drain in the wash basin, broken shower switch, missing sugar to make tea or coffee. When we asked...

I would not consider this hotel 4 star. Very basic bar. Rooms adequate but very small. Bed small and hard. Tiny fridge. Breakfast decent enough but very expensive compared to dozens of cafes nearby. Staff not very friendly or helpful. Very upmarket area. Would head for alexanderplatz and stay somewhere there if i return to berlin.

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
