Unfortunately this was a bad hotel experience on several levels. The hotel bar and lounge is fantastic, however this is where the positive points end. I booked a late check out however on the day of my check out I was awoken by a cleaner (who entered my room) and then later by management who told me I did not...

Dear Sam, thank you for your feedback. Very happy that you enjoyed the experience in our restaurant and bar. As with your first impression, communication is usually on our strong side. We care and relate. Not out of trained routines, but true interest. Our reception staff is leading the pack when it comes to being fully identified with the hotel...

Loved it. Great location, 2 mins from the station and 5 mins from the east side gallery. Great place to stay in Berlin. Staff were so helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was great, the choice was brilliant and the food was really fresh and we couldn't fault it. Bar area was really cool and quirky and we spent some time chilling...

5 minute walk from East Side Gallery, great transport links, kooky rooms, nice cocktails, good service at the bar, breakfast was ok. A good base to travel around Berlin from and the Mercedes-Benz Arena was right next door. You should definitely stay on the east side if you are going to Berlin.

Whenever I talk to people about Berlin, the Michelberger tends to come up in conversation. It has a reputation as a hipster hotel but the thing that made my stay so memorable was the attention to detail. The design and the staff create an atmosphere of warmth and comfort. Everything from the sofas and books in the living room area,...

The Michelberger hotel feels like more than just a hotel. The environment and staff really cultivate a creative atmosphere that permeates everything in the hotel. Even in staying here for just 4 days, I made strides in my creative work. Everything is beautifully designed. The welcome pack is designed to look like a fairytale book with the hotel rules laid...

That is one funny review. It really tied the room together! Had to forward it straight to Aaron. Will make him happy. The channel is up and running again. Come back!

Well, this hotel has undoubtedly marvelous design of every room - we stayed in a golden one (with a golden toilet!) and it is situated on a border of a vivid Friedrichshain district. The problem is - although the hotel wants to fit into this free-minded, colorful, alternative atmosphere, they do have problem to be really open-minded and friendly. An...

Such a groovy little place! Rooms are unique, trendy, and had all we needed. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Foyer was a glorious place to chill, drink, and catch up with friends. Location was ideal. Price was reasonable. Restaurant offered great paleo options. Only criticism would be the tiny bathroom with a sink outside in the 'lounge' area.

This is one of the nicest, most welcoming boutique hotels I have ever visited. And hands down one of the best boutique hotels I've ever frequented. First of all, the rooms are cute and well appointed, and the common areas like the lobby and restaurant are beautifully designed and wonderful places to relax. All of the staff are friendly, helpful...

Great staff, great location, cool vibe. The room is a bit small, but it feels just alright for a one night stay. It has a nice funky attitude too - If you notice, they always play The Big Lebowski movie in all the TVs along the corridors.

Stayed here for a few nights this week in on or the Band rooms, with a couple of friends. We'd heard good things, and done a bit of research, so we more or less knew what we were getting. The hotel itself is ridiculously cool, design-wise I couldn't fault it, you could spend a lot of time in that bar....

Staying in Friedrichshain

Neighbourhood Profile
Friedrichshain
When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.
