Despite an issue with the booking that took a couple of weeks to resolve (the hotel overcharged us by €40 when they processed the pre-booked room onto our credit card), we arrived full of enthusiasm for our stay at Michelberger. We arrived in the evening & we were immediate confronted with a packed bar with a band/dj playing. Initial impressions...

I stayed in this place for just one night, was looking for something reasonable and unusual. Well, this place is certainly unusual. From the moment I walked in at 10:30 in the evening, I was constantly surprised by just how different the Michelberger is from an ordinary boutique hotel. First, the bar in the reception area was full of young,...

It started out really well. I booked the Clever one to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday, and it immediately felt like home. Welcome drink, great overall vibe everywhere in the hotel. Smart, original, funky, cosy... great first impression. An impression that even improved during our 4 night stay. Until day 3... we got back to the hotel late in the afternoon,...

Dear guest, we are very sorry that you felt treated how you described, and that your great experience in Berlin and our hotel ended with unhappy feelings. There has been a miscommunication between you and the reception team, which led to a situation where our team had to make a decision to move you to another room on your last...

We had a blast at the Michelberger! The loft room was perfect (just be careful going up and down the stairs if you've had a few to drink!). Clean and comfortable with big windows. My only complaint is that it was quite noisy out on the street overnight, but we're New Yorkers, so we managed to sleep. If you live...

I have spent a lot of time in Berlin but I have never really enjoyed the hotel experience there... until I stayed here. The most friendly and wonderful staff you will ever come across -they all love this place and it shows. The room was super clean and super comfy. Wonderful space outside to hang out in and smoke, relax...

Thought i would try somewhere unique and different in east berlin, so i was desperate to stay here when i saw the reviews. The hotel had only one room remaining called the chalet, 200 euros per night, they gave me it for 160. I cant help feeling i am being conned, is quirky and different just a euphamism for we...

Dear Sam, thanks for your feedback. First of all we are happy that you liked at least some parts of our place, that is something to build on. In regards to your Chalet room, you are right it does not have a TV, but it has a 3x2 Meter Cinema Projector, which you must have missed. This rooms feels like...

Stayed for 4 nights for a conference, and have nothing but good things to say. My company booked the 'band' room, which would sleep 5 in 5 single beds. It was obviously too much space for me, but I have no complaints about the room. Good water pressure in the shower, which is always a plus, especially after staying late...

We were in for a bit of a shock when we arrived at 11:00 at night and the bar was in full swing, we were expecting a hotel reception desk rather than a party. While we waited for our room to get sorted out on the computer system we were offered a beer which was duly accepted. Our room was...

Just to say MB met my expectations based on all other reviews. Good functional room! Good value, good location, friendly staff... cool bar downstairs... Our room was facing the court yard which was quiet. Our room was functional and clean.

Michelberger is, in short, THE place to stay if you are looking for a relaxed vibe and a cool location in East Berlin. This was our second stay at the hotel, and can honestly say there will be many more to come. From the moment you arrive, until the time comes to depart, you are made to feel very welcome...

Staying in Friedrichshain

Neighbourhood Profile
Friedrichshain
When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.
