Stayed at HCC because of the great reviews on TA... liked the location its in a hip area 20 steps to the metro station for the U2 line (one of the better tourist lines) .... really like the small feel of the hotel , it was more quiet than I thought but the lobby is small with no bar.... and... Great location and attentive serviçe. I was quite surprised by simple comforts that Casa Camper has to offer its guests. From the amazing bed, to the spacious and well thought out bathroom to the unbelievable 7th floor which functions basically as a giant 24 hour food bar. This hotel is quite smart, an amazing option for the laid back traveller.... More

This is a wonderful hotel. The location is great. Pretty much everything you'll want to do in Berlin is in walking distance. But unlike some of the big name hotels this is a real neighborhood with funky restaurants and stores. I loved the little touches in the room -- the big counter in the bathroom area, the moveable lamps, the... More

Quirky, minimalist, yes I would agree with all that - but that is what I like. Very easy to get to from Schonefeld - 5 minute walk to train, 20 minutes to Alexanderplatz, one stop on the U to Weinmeisterstr, and there is the hotel at the top of the subway steps. The staff are pleasant and helpful, the room... More

I stayed here for 3 days and LOVED the experience. The hotel staff are exceedingly friendly and helpful. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the decor was minimalist but chic and very functional. The location was perfect as it is very central and in the middle of a hip district. It was very cold when I arrived in Berlin and... More

This hotel offers generous simplicity, privacy and elegance. It is completely hip in the center of the Mitte section, reminding us of either Soho or the West Village in NYC. Prior to arriving, we needed reservations to restaurants, suggestions on day trips and we even asked if we should bring our snow boots! The staff at CC returned our inquiries... More

An excellent hotel in an excellent area virtually on top of Weinmasterstrasse U Bahn. The staff are friendly efficient and unobtrusive. The rooms are minimalist and the back to front design with bed by the door and open plan bathroom next to the window works surprisingly well though would be irritating for 2 sharers rather than a couple or single... I can't fault this place. Clean and modern rooms with everything you need. 24hr snacks and soft drinks on the top floor. A good breakfast, and a nice longe area to relax or work in. The staff are really welcoming and very friendly. Quiet rooms and comfy beds. The ambience is very relaxed, but efficient. Excellent location, very close to... More

Once again stayed in Berlin at Casa Camper and enjoyed this great hotel in the middle of Mitte. The one thing I love about this hotel is the lounge upstairs, where I can work in the evening rather then sitting in a dark hotel room. The staff is really welcoming and always smiling and most importantly very consistent. On this... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
