So myself and 3 friends stayed in the 6 bed 'Jenny' dorm with 2 strangers who we rarely saw. The beds were standard but comfortable and clean bedclothes are provided upon arrival. The only downside was that the curtains don't close propertly (at all) so once the sun comes up the room is glaringly bright. The staff were so friendly... More

I don't understand the ratings of these reviews. Stayed in the 16-bed mixed dorm for a few nights. Immediately I walked into the room and around, I was not a fan. Old building. Musty smell in the hallway and weird odor in the room. If you arrive late, it might take some time for the front desk to answer. This... More

This place was nice. Nice staff, huge common room, big rooms (needs a good renovation though). One let down, which is a huge one for me, is that I was eaten alive by bedbugs. When I told the staff, they said they had some way of getting rid of them, but nothing was done about it. I was ready scheduled... More

The Hostel is Hostel is a really nice Place. Free hot coffee and tea in the Morning, that you can enjoy on the rooftop balkony. The Livingroom feels like home and the beds are cosy! The staff is welcoming and gives good advices about Berlin. I will definitley come back.packers!

Simple, work. Prices are pretty fair. The service is good, the beds are comfortable, great wifi, some free food to cook. Not fancy, but simple and in the good meaning. Now some random words to get to 200 characters :)

Great hostel in an easy location, relaxed vibe with a big social space to make friends. Roof terrace is also a treat, though it could do with a bit of TLC. Showers not amazing but apart from that we enjoyed our stay here a lot. Plus the Kreuzberg beer was really good and the bar was very reasonably priced.

We had a nice stay at comebackpackers - the room was clean and there was a very laid back atmosphere. Many of the other travellers there were also interrailing. The kitchen was well equipped and clean, and the dishwasher available made a huge difference to our stay. WiFi outside the lobby area was poor at best. The location was central... More

This hostel is located in a rough part of Kreuzberg and has a difficult to locate entrance. The service was very friendly and the room we stayed in was fine. The place tries way too hard to appear hip and people who are primarily into finding Berlin's nightlife. The wifi connectivity was terrible outside of the lobby.

We had a great stay in this hostel. Positive feedback: 1.Friendly staff 2.common room where the sold beers - great for communicating with the rest of the travelers. 3. Near bars and fast foods 4. great bohemian neighborhood full of life (but watch out at night between 9-11pm. weirdly enough around 1am i felt safer) 5.Met some great people there!... More

If you want a friendly, relaxed and good value place to stay in the centre of Berlin's nightlife scene, Comebackpackers hostel in the heart of Kreuzberg is the place for you. 1) Great location: within walking distance of most of Berlin's best clubs; Berghain, Tresor, Suicide Circus to name a few. Surrounded by hundreds of affordable cafes, restaurants and bars,... More

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighbourhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Comebackpackers Hostel in Berlin Kreuzberg was created and is run by two friends who have travelled the world for many years. It is a hostel built by travelers for travelers. The Comebackpackers is not a Hotel-Hostel, its one of the few Hostel-Hostels in Berlin. We found a nice gap in Berlin and we changed into a place wich is now home for people away from home. The people come as guests and leave as friends. The Comebackpackers Hostel offers all comforts a backpacker needs. Beside the comfortable, well-lit and spacious bedrooms, the hostel provides a huge common room great for meeting new friends or for relaxing after a long day of sight-seeing or night of partying. There is also foosball, boardgames or a book exchange which keep you busy. The roof top terrace with a view over Kottbusstertor gives you the real Berlin Kreuzberg feeling. ... more   less
