Comfortable small hotel (30 rooms or so) in a convenient location in Mitte. This area was part of East Berlin. Great connections to other parts of the city through Nordbahnhof, Oranienburger str. and Oranienburger Tor stations, all not more than 400-550 meters from hotel. Spacious airy clean room with modern and well equipped bathroom. In room safe as well as... More

Very clean, perfect location close to subway and all sights but quiet at night. Comfy bed and nice shower. Breakfast was ok but noting great for €10. There is a very interesting Berlin wall memorial park just up the street that was not at all crowded. Would definitely stay here again.

Very comfortable rooms at a fair price. There is even a hidden gym downstairs if you ever feel that you overindulged on schnitzel and beer. Close to coffee shops and there is a cheap supermarket across the street for travellers on a budget. Very close to both Oranienburger Strasse (S-Bahn) and Oranienburger Tor (U-Bahn) which are both only a few... More

A very good hotel. Well worth the price. Very good location. Close enough to the U and the S. The room was very comfortable and the bathroom really equipped and spoiling. Lots of nice restaurants and cafes in a walking distance . Really recommended.

We loved this hotel, not just because it had the best shower of the past 3 weeks. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was a nice size, comfortable and very clean, and the bathroom was fabulous! We found the location convenient for the sites we wanted to see, mainly in former East Berlin and the Reichstag area/Tiergarten of... More

We were really pleased with what a great value this hotel was since it was in an area that was very close to many attractions. It is in a quiet residential area but there are many many little cafes and nice restaurants within a couple of blocks. The room was very spacious and very clean.

We booked this hotel because of Trip Advisor reviews and it was as reviewed. It isn't too far from U-Bahn stops and there are abundant restaurants in the vicinity, however, I enjoy neighborhoods that have some clothes/gift/book shopping in the area and there was none of that. The rooms in front were noisy (102, 103, 104, & 105 on floor... More

Dear Sue, thank you for your visit and feedback! I am so sorry to read that you did not find what you expected about the neighborhood. You should have talked to us during your stay. Really! You must have walked completely the wrong directions. For example in Torstreet towards Rosenthaler Platz or Tucholskystreet, Auguststrasse and pretty much all the little... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
