Great location next to metro station, quiet, clean, large, with kitchen, confortable bed, funny and pleasant owner, market and some sights nearby. Close to Berlin zoo. Great appartment. Visited as couple 24Jun-01Jul 2014. Ansbacher Strasse 9. First choice when we come back. Thanks!

We stayed five nigths in apartment 501. Quite funny that we were beforehand asked to announce when we arrive at Ansbacher Str. 9 and this is the address the company uses on their website as well. Luckily 8-14 was rigth opposite, because we choose the apartment because of its excellent location. The man who brought us the key was very...

The building itself is a bit creepy with the empty hallways and dingy lighting, but it's no reflection on the apartment itself. It was light, airy, open and clean. The kitchen facilities were good but there needed to be some other knives as the one I had was washed and reused every time I had to cut meat, then veges,...

I was in Berlin for the 2011 Marathon on the last Sunday in September and decided to combine with trip to sightsee the city and stayed for 4 nights at the apartments. The apartment is basic, utilitarian and clean. There is a two ring stove, china, cutlery and enough pans to do egg and bacon for breakfast or pasta and...

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights, and we loved this apartment. When we arrived, the owner met us promptly to let us in and told us to call him if we needed anything. Walking through the halls of the apartment building was a little scary - lightbulbs that were burnt out and flickering, dingy hallways, but we...

Firstly, the location was great, but, with public transport as good s it is in Berlin, any area is going to be in a good location. The apartment, (bedsit). Not great, small, dingy bathroom that needs a good clean, no music system, (it was advertised as having one), no iron, (i contacted beforehand as was advised the bedsit had one)....

No signage stating at apartment - owner 20 minutes late with keys, troubling at 9pm at night. Non of the amenities listed were found - no sauna, spa, if they existed the owners never pointed out or left guidance. THE BED WAS BROKEN. Mattress slumped into slats which were broken in two. NO CURTAINS - only sheer blinds, no privacy...

The apartment we got was the number 401. The building is the worst thing at all... from outside is definetely not nice and look like a residence for retired people. The apartment itself was OK, clean, cousy and quiet. For the price it´s quite difficult to find something better. The location is just perfect, very close to the U Bahn,...

Staying in Schoneberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Schoneberg
In 1963, Schöneberg was the centre of the political west, inspiring John F. Kennedy to choose this area to famously announce, "Ich bin ein Berliner." Times may have changed, but modern-day Schöneberg still pays tribute to its historical legacies. Once the richest city outside of Berlin proper, the area's affluent past is still visible in ornate housing facades dating back to the Gründerzeit of the 19th century, while residents in fur coats walking their dogs or shopping in high-end KaDeWe continue the tradition with a modern flair. Schöneberg was also once the centre of the decadent and burlesque nightlife of the 1920s. It was here that Marlene Dietrich partied with Christopher Isherwood and the first gay bar in Germany was founded. Today, the gay community still revolves around Nollendorfplatz. The overground Ubahn station is even illuminated in rainbow colors, paying tribute to Schöneberg's progressive past.
