We travel to Berlin 4-5x per year for many years. We have stayed at many Berlin hotels. In general, they are fine but MOA was exceptional for many reasons : 1. the staff was absolutely friendly and professional at including the technical man who fixed our bikes 2. My large, comfortable room was located on the main floor of the hotel with a window overlooking Birkenstrasse. There was no traffic noise to disturb my sleep - and the blackout curtains made sure that I wasn't disturbed by early morning light. Unlimited free wi-fi access enabled me to remain in touch with work and family. Check-in and check-out were...

Excellent reception being assisted to a very helpful lady who spoke good English. We were give good advice on travelling around the city, making use of the day ticket on the underground, which was very inexpensive and excellent value. On checking out the language skills were lacking, but we managed. The location was OK providing you were prepared to use...

I would like to share my experience staying at Mercure Hotel MOA Berlin in early February 2017. This time, upon my arrival at Berlin Hauptbahnhof (Hbf), I decided to take a taxi since it was late already (almost 11:30 pm) and I felt lazy taking a risk going there using underground train. The drive took approx. 12~13 minutes that evening...

I decided to stay in this Hotel due to the fact that is close to center of Berlin and is very near the subway. Nice and clean room. The free WiFi worked smoothly and at okay speed. There is a good breakfast buffet that should be able to satisfy most people. Metro station is within walking distance. Parking next to the Hotel in garage.

Modern hotel with most amenities expected, except there was no gym. Restaurants, metro and trains all within walking distance make the price and the location perfect. Supermarket downstairs if you need some quick groceries.

Room is large and clean. Hotel is near the U Bahn and the local bars and restaurants are lovely. To get to the main sites in Berlin it takes around 20 minutes by U and S bahn. You need to take the train to the Zoo and then change. It is really easy, cheap and convenient. The rooms lack natural...

I had a great location on the main floor with plenty of space (even if there had been more than just me in the room) and I had everything I possibly needed. The hotel's in a great location close to the U-bahn station. Great staff, great service, and great rooms. Visited in Dec 2015.

Staying in Moabit

Neighbourhood Profile
Moabit
You may not realize Moabit is one of the city’s most central neighbourhoods when you arrive at Hauptbahnhof (central station). Surrounded by waterways, Moabit is a quiet island protected from the hustle and bustle of Berlin. The crowds that do gather prefer spending their evenings in cozy restaurants over the party venues offered by other districts. With its beautiful parks, old housing and romantic industrial areas, life has traditionally been relaxed and a bit slower here. But the tone may soon be changing. Reasonable housing costs and proximity to city centre are attracting more young Berliners and international visitors. This interest is encouraging new bars, cafés and nightclubs, making Moabit a candidate for most up-and-coming neighbourhood in the city.
