This is a lovely, charming Berlin hotel which is run by a fine staff who made sure my stay in this exciting city was a great one. Location is superb, as it's right in the middle of the Schoneberg area, and so it is walking distance to everywhere, with great transport links just steps away. All around the hotel are...

We arrived after 10pm and collected keys from a drop box. This is what would be called a "hostal" in Spain i.e. occupies the third floor of an apartment building. The main entry foyer was dark upon arrival and has no sensor light. We booked a larger room, which has a very small bathroom, high ceilings and bay window to...

I had a single en suite room. The location of the hotel was great for me. Near some nightlife and S-bahn and buses. Breakfast was also good. Eggs cooked to order, fresh press coffee. Bread, meat, cheese, yoghurt to round it out. Not too much. Just right. The hotel is also very pretty. It IS an ART hotel afterall. The...

I stayed here on my annual Germany Christmas shopping trip. It is a lovely hotel that is perfectly located for the main shopping and gay quarter of the City. The hotel is on the third floor of a building with Prinznecht bar below. Being third floor it is quiet and you are away from the street noise. Helpful staff. Clean...

Stayed here three night with Friends. We had two rooms and we all loved this hotel. The location is very convenient to the night life in the area and close to nearby shopping. Public transportation is close by and cheap. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is amazing and avail until late in the day.

Very friendly staff. They allowed me to check-in early and after the first night, I've been offered a free upgrade to a bigger single room (in my opinion this was rather a double room). Once again - I didn't ask for it, they pro-actively offered me this extra. The rooms were very clean and warm, which is important, given the...

Had excellent service while staying there. My single room was small, especially the bathroom. All the noise from hallway could be easily heard, which was the biggest minus in this hotel. Otherwise I enjoyed. The breakfast was very nice for a small hotel, and even though I had to leave early, they arranged the breakfast for me. Recommended! :)

We spent 4 nights here recently. Staff is very helpful and friendly. We came in one night and wanted some tea. Staff member was about to go home but took the time to make tea. Great service. Loved our contemporarily furnished room. Quiet. Even though on street. Close to bars and restaurants. A great Italian restaurant is down the street....

Just stayed 5 nights and would highly recommend a stay here if you're looking for a centrally located budget hotel in the centre of Gay Berlin and close to major shopping and the U Bahn. The rooms are older style, but spacious, the shower excellent, as was the wifi. The bed is very comfortable as well. Breakfast for 10 Euros...

Lovely hotel with a friendly staff. It is in a lovely old building with a front door with character and an old lift, the lift works although I didn't use it as. It is up on the third floor. The owner throughout check in was very friendly and helpful showing me places on the map and also recommending other places...

Staying in Schoneberg

Neighbourhood Profile
In 1963, Schöneberg was the centre of the political west, inspiring John F. Kennedy to choose this area to famously announce, "Ich bin ein Berliner." Times may have changed, but modern-day Schöneberg still pays tribute to its historical legacies. Once the richest city outside of Berlin proper, the area's affluent past is still visible in ornate housing facades dating back to the Gründerzeit of the 19th century, while residents in fur coats walking their dogs or shopping in high-end KaDeWe continue the tradition with a modern flair. Schöneberg was also once the centre of the decadent and burlesque nightlife of the 1920s. It was here that Marlene Dietrich partied with Christopher Isherwood and the first gay bar in Germany was founded. Today, the gay community still revolves around Nollendorfplatz. The overground Ubahn station is even illuminated in rainbow colors, paying tribute to Schöneberg's progressive past.
