The hotel has the potential to be good. The reception area is lovely, very open with lots of art on display. The bar is nice. Reception staff could be friendlier but they were efficient. However, the rooms are poor. They are in desperate need of a refurb. The bed is one of the most uncomfortable hotel beds I have ever slept in. The room was very dusty and there are very few plugs. Bathroom was okay, although our shower did not function that well. Again it is in need of some TLC. You wait a long time for a lift although this is not uncommon in large hotels. The indoor pool area is a nice touch for a city hotel. We had breakfast at the hotel on our last morning - personally I wouldn't bother with it. Lots of cafes around. EUR25 and the orange juice was effectively orange squash (powder and water out of a machine) and the food cold. Hotel is located very close to two stations - Unter den Linden and Friedrickstrase - which is helpful. Although if I returned to Berlin I would probably stay in a different area as we spent a lot of time on the subway. …

We have always been staying in a Maritim Hotel in our travels so far coz of their services and location and ambiance . In Berlin is also a superb place to stay with family. Their indoor pool is really cool . Buffet is good as well . And the rooms cozy and comfy.

This place is right next to Friderichstrasse station and conveniently located. The reception staff were really nice. There are water bottles in the room and spacious. There is also a supermarket next door for getting your essentials. I generally like to walk to all of old towns and this fit the bill perfectly. Did not visit the restaurant since there are a lot of options nearby as well. Would recommend this to visitors to Berlin.

I visit Berlin a lot for work, but on this occasion the several hotels I frequent were not available or were prohibitively expensive. This hotel is in a great location only a couple of minutes on foot from Friedrichstraße train station which is super convenient when travelling from the airport. However, this is really the only major positive about this hotel for me... I was rather underwhelmed and won't be in a rush to go back. As others have mentioned, it's looking pretty dated and tired. My room was 'surface clean' but looking beyond the surface it was not particularly clean - for instance dust build up in the hard to reach places, but this takes place over years not weeks. The room smelt stale when I entered and there were dubious stains in the suitcase rack area that looked like something had been spilt but never cleaned. Thankfully the window opened which allowed me to get fresh air in the room, although it was a bit too noisy to keep open overnight but happens in many other city centre hotels. Otherwise it was quiet however, and I slept quite well. The bed was comfortable but certainly not the best I've experienced. The bathroom was clean but the shower experience was not good! Controls operated from the tap as is commonplace, but with no thermostatic control - this meant the shower went from freezing to scalding with no warning. I avoided adjusting it reactively which would probably have made it worse but still it would suddenly change and require me to leap out of the way until it settled again. Not a relaxing experience and I daresay a little dangerous for children. Free bottle of water and cute system for 'rewarding' you for not taking daily housekeeping - you hang a little bag on your door for them to put a gift in (wildflower seeds and a satsuma). However, I was sleeping lightly at the time they did this (about 2am) and hearing a faint scuffle at my door woke me up with a start! They were not noisy, I was just easily awoken so a bit unlucky really. Overall, a very mediocre experience - not good but not bad. But for the price I think you can do a lot better even with the cheaper end of the market like INNside on Chaussee Str. I do not plan to return but rather use my other usual hotels (Titanic Chaussee, Melia etc).…

Very sad hotel stuck in the 90’s . This once fancy stylish hotel has seen better days. The lobby was cold and uninviting . The rooms were very old and worn and torn. The rug had multiple spots, the furniture was scratched and soiled. The walls were scratched and had nondescript spots on them. The pillows and bedding were thin and not proper for the cold Berlin winter. The breakfast restaurant was okay. The buffet was surprisingly well stocked, and a large selection was available. The staff was unfriendly.

Excellent experience really comfortable room and bed. Rooms are sound proof but you can hear people in the corridors. Friendly staff and great location close to all the major sights. The hotel also has an environmental scheme to reward not having the room cleaned as often during the stay. Rooms well equipped great for business as well as leisure. Nice pool too!

Old hotel with outdated rooms needing refurbishment. Reception staff very rude and unfriendly, (especially Mrs W. - front desk manager) Arrived at 13.30 and was refused check in unless I would pay 19 Euros extra for “early checkin” despite apparently plenty of rooms available. Clearly money grab. Location is good but definitely not a 4 star hotel. Avoid at all cost.

Time flies, which is very noticeable in this house. Still clean and decent, but the feel is early 2000.... Time has come for an update - to make the house ready for the future. However, the location is excellent! :-)

Four wonderful days at this comfortable, modern, and attractive hotel made my Berlin visit memorable. Everything about it was excellent, including being up-to-date but not so finicky with the electronics that I had any problem working things, which sometimes is the case when I travel. It was entirely pleasant in every way. I used room service once for breakfast, which was so extensive I made sandwiches for later. I swam each evening after long walks around Berlin in their lovely pool -- and got a pedicure too from Tanya, which hit the spot. Centrally located as it is, this hotel is perfect for the sight-seer. I rode the 'hop-on-hop-off' tour bus and found it ideal for seeing the city. Use the concierge for tips in how to shape your day as there are so many things to see, and the staff is helpful and friendly. I enjoyed two dinners in the hotel restaurant which has a limited but surprisingly excellent menu. The beds are comfortable and the overall service just can't be surpassed. They go out of their way to accommodate. I wll stay here again for sure! Remember to pack your adapter so you can plug into the European wall sockets!…

Great location - in Berlin-Mitte - within walking distance of the main sights, restaurants, and shops. A private underground parking garage. A great, extensive breakfast.
