Great location away from tourist area and walking distance from Alexanderplatz, cordial and helpful staff, ample and hot and cold breakfast, and many different restaurant choices within walking distance.

This hotel doesn't look like much from the outside, or the lobby for that matter, but the good location in an area full of international cafes and restaurants in a true neighborhood was a find for us. The Mitte area has many international residents so the Tapas bar next door has Spanish families there for a bite in the evenings...

Friendly and competent service, was very helpful about parking as it turned out our car was too big to fit in the private parking space. Nice clean rooms. We lived at the sixth floor with a great view of the tv tower. The neighborhood is packed with nice, cheap restaurants giving it a great and hip vibe. Situated very close...

Hotel Jurine is in an acceptable location, the rooms are clean. Basic room, actoss from an elementary school- not too noisy, but- I was never in my room as the kids were playing. No fridge in the room. Staff were friendly- BUT- at 0940-my last day- I asked about breakfast- and, they turned me away. Wow! You have to pre-order...

This was a good find. This is little hotel is in a vibrant neighborhood in East Berlin. The room was cozy, quiet and clean. Ours overlooked the garden, but I don't know if street side is noisy. I would definitely come back here. Cons: There were two separate mattresses pushed together, quilt like cover and no separate sheet. The clerks at...

This a very nice, clean and comfortable hotel, very helpful staff, excellent value. The area is one of Berlin's best! Really good breakfast, and surprise bonus was the back garden / breakfast terrace.

We stayed here for 5 nights, and really loved this little hotel. It's in a fantastic part of Berlin with tons of excellent eateries and boutiques close by. The young ladies at the front desk were super helpful and kind. The rooms are cosy, quiet, and very clean. We had a lovely view of the trees and church spire from...

The Jurine is well located, a good value, and comparable to other hotels of its price in the area. Consider skipping the breakfast--there are many places within a few blocks that offer breakfast for a reasonable price.

Jurine was a very clean, very sweet small hotel in Berlin. The ladies at the desk were always kind and helpful. Breakfast every morning was very filling and very nicely laid out. The hotel is not in the middle of all the sites or such, but it is located only 2 blocks from the metro, with places to eat and...

I stayed a short time in the hotel which is located in the upcoming area of Prenzlauer Berg in the eastern part of Berlin in the Schwedter Strasse. It is well located for public transport (short walking distance to either trams,M1 or M2, or u-bahn U2) and is within easy walking distance to Alexanderplatz or if you are energetic to...

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighbourhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighbourhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
