If you want a decent budget hotel, you wont go wrong with Motel One. If you need to be close to the station this would be a perfect choice. It is a bit of a walk to the main attractions but you can taxi, Uber...More
Motel One is a chain, so it won't have regional character or historic interest, but it's a great place to stay. I was here five nights in October and found it wonderfully comfortable. The room is small by American standards, but perfectly adequate. The bed...More
The hotel is ideally suited for train travellers and delivers excellent value for the money. Our room and especially the bathroom was small but very well designed, typical for this chain. And absolutely clean.

You may not realize Moabit is one of the city’s most central neighbourhoods when you arrive at Hauptbahnhof (central station). Surrounded by waterways, Moabit is a quiet island protected from the hustle and bustle of Berlin. The crowds that do gather prefer spending their evenings in cozy restaurants over the party venues offered by other districts. With its beautiful parks, old housing and romantic industrial areas, life
has traditionally been relaxed and a bit slower here. But the tone may soon be changing. Reasonable housing costs and proximity to city centre are attracting more young Berliners and international visitors. This interest is encouraging new bars, cafés and nightclubs, making Moabit a candidate for most up-and-coming neighbourhood in the city.

There is a bus going from outside the Airport hall at street level. You will find signs for "Bus" inside the arrival hall. It has 'TXL' on the destination window, and it goes direct to the Central Station (Hauptbahnhof). It costs Euro 2.70, and you pay either the driver or in peak periods a seller outside. The hotel Motel One is on the same side of the station, where the bus arrives, you don't have to go through the whole station.
