Don't waste your time. I stayed with a group of friends and firstly the reception/front of house is a liquor shop, no real reception. Secondly like others before me on our second day in Berlin our apartment was broken into and our belongings ransacked, they took cash and left other valuable items, clearly by people who had done it before... DO NOT STAY HERE! Just as mentioned by previous guests. Our apartment was broken into while we were out seeing the sights of Berlin. Apartment seems secure as there is a security door into apartment block as well as door to apartment. However all our belongings were gone through, thrown across the floor and money stolen. There was no sign... More

5 friends spent a weekend in Berlin and this was a great way to spend time together when not out in the city. The apartment had 3 bedrooms, one with twin beds and the other 2 had doubles. The coach could also serve as a bed. Everything was clean. It is not fancy but serviceable and the beds were comfortable.... More

I visited with my sisters and we had a 2 bedroom apartment on the 6th floor - at least the lift worked! We'd read the reviews fortunately so weren't expecting too much and knew to collect the keys from the beer shop, which was a good 10 minute walk away! Again, fortunately, there were 3 of us and as we... More

We rented a two bed apartment , it is not as nice as the photos and the kitchen equipment was poor so not really possible to cook much, no baking trays! We couldn't open our window in the main bedroom, we reported it and someone came in while we were out but did not fix it. We arrived just after... More

Back in early October my three girlfriends and I visited Berlin and rented via Go-apartments (4th floor 4.1)...Just as the previous review we too got ALL of our electronics stolen (as we were out for dinner for 1.5 hour - 3 laptops, two cameras and Euros). The gentlemen at the front desk who represented the company did not seem very... More

We rented an apartment in this building on the 3rd floor in August 2013. On the first night while we were at dinner, the apartment was entered and my family had many electronic items stolen. We had carefully made sure to lock the door and windows before we left. The Berlin police were called, and they could not find any... More

I just spend 7 nights in apartment 6.3 on 29, Rudi-Dutschke-Straße with my family, 6 people, and even though the apartment doesn’t look just as nice as on the pictures, it is an OK apparent. The key handover at the office in Koch Strasse was fast and efficient, and when we on the second day reported a minor problem with... More

First thing to beware of- the late check in cost (after 10pm) although we were only 10 minutes late, and the reason was because our train was cancelled, we were still charged 25euro which i thought was a little unfair. Its about a 5-10 minute walk to the apartment, quite easy to find. The apartment building smelt of smoke and... More

Our apartment was clean, comfortable, in a great location with secure parking under the apartment building...what else could a person ask for. The price was great! Location, location, location!! Loved the fact that Check Point Charlie was right there. Starbucks was across the road and the subway was between the apartment and Starbucks. It was easy to pick up and... More

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighbourhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
