My boyfriend and I thought the hotel was lovely. Our room was spotless every day, the staff were always so friendly, and the breakfast was amazing. The hotel is extremely close to the U Bahn and basically connected to a Kaisers which was very handy. The only thing that could have made our stay better would be a pool! Thanks...

A 4 stars hotel with - nothing in your mini bar - a bottle of water at 3,90 Euros when you arrive in the room (they could offer it as the mini bar is empty ) - cheap Mercure hotel samples in the bathroom - a tired decoration without "luxury " touch - a staff who is cold and unable...

The room exceeded my expectations as I only paid £33 a night (obviously a special deal). The bed was the biggest one I've ever slept in (and all to myself!). I opened what I thought was a wardrobe and it was a mini kitchen with an oven, hob and fridge! The breakfast was lovely and you can eat as much...

We chose this hotel because our daughter lives in Neukoln and we could walk to her apartment from the hotel. It is not close to the touristy areas but with a train pass and a brief orientation to the transportation system, it is easy to get anywhere. As another poster said, this is the 'real Berlin', not the pretty and...

I visited Mercure Berlin Tempelhof hotel for business and stayed 6 nights. I had a very satisfactory stay, especially considering the price. The hotel is located in Neukoln, 100 meters from an UBahn and 15' drive from Schoenenfeld airport. The room was very spacious, top floor, very quiet and comfortable. Service was helpful. Breakfast was ok, nothing very special, tended...

Booked this hotel due to proximity to Huxleys Neue Welt for a concert. The hotel was reasonable with a decent sized room but lacked any real character. This may be due to its historical function as an airport hotel. Cannot pass any significant comment as our 2 day stay became 1 thanks to a BA flight cancellation but would not...

Staying in Neukolln

Neighbourhood Profile
Neukolln
No Berlin neighbourhood is more popular with the young and jet-set crowd than the old worker's district of Neukölln. With so many Turkish settled here, the area became known as “Little Istanbul“. Today the percentage of foreigners is still high and visitors still frequent the Turkish shisha bars. In the daytime, they also visit the designer shops and sit by the canal in one of the street cafés up and down Westerstrasse or at Maybachufer, having a beer and waving to the sightseeing boats as they float by. But at night, Neukölln is dominated by increasingly young, alternative, and international crowds. This is particularly evident in the northern section of the district where there are many bars, funky clubs, galleries and restaurants. There, the night never seems to end.

“When I arrived at my room late in the evening, the bottle of mineral water set out on a tray was a welcome site. It was only on the third night that I noticed tiny writing of E3.90 next to the big writing "Refresh Yourself". This is such a mean stingy little gesture for an otherwise good quality hotel ”
