This is a lovely hotel but the hotel restaurant wasn't great. We stayed for a meal and attended the Stars in Concert. Food was average but expensive. The restaurant service was very poor - maybe we were unlucky or maybe they are always understaffed. To top it all, we were charged for drinks we didn't have (and didn't notice until next day when we wondered at the expense of the meal). We did get the life story of the waitress - possibly we were charged for that too? Avoid restaurant.

Gigantic hotel hosting a big meeting (incl COVID 19 PCR tests for all participants...). Super busy and not really personal treatment. Were not allowed to sit where I wanted for breakfast due to the big event going on. The first cappuccino served had sour milk, the second lactose free milk...rooms ok, but overall, not my cup of tea...

If you ever go to Berlin, please stay here! I can't recommend it enough! How I found myself there was that my EasyJet flight was cancelled, so they put us up for free and meals included. The room was huge and spacious with a beautiful marble sink and stocked minibar. The lobby was gorgeous and bustling and the hotel is full of fascinating art. Being Germany's biggest hotel, it is fun to wander around. Staff were nice and friendly too. Will definitely pay to stay here one day

We were booked into the Estrel when our flight from Berlin was cancelled. As we were travelling with a budget airline we really did not expect to be booked into a 5* hotel. We arrived quite late at night, around 2330, even at this time of night the hotel was a hive of activity. The check-in was so easy and efficient, and as we had been stuck at Tegel for five hours it was a relief just to sit down. The receptionist could not have been more helpful, giving us €50 in vouchers for use in the restaurants, and pointed us to the dining room saying it was still open for a meal, Our room was fantastic, after three nights of sweltering in a room where the A/C was incapable of cooling us down to enter was like diving into a cool swimming pool when it is 35 degrees outside. Next morning we went for breakfast, again what can one say except outstanding, all the food was freshly cooked and there was a feeling of openness, despite this being the largest hotel in Berlin. After breakfast we were shown the business computer centre so we could check in on our flights later in the day, not from Berlin but rather Hamburg. We were also able to book the train from Berlin to Hamburg. The staff even came over to help us with the German. We had to check out by 1200 but when we went to do so, at 1200, we were told no problem we could stay later if we wished to. We used the vouchers for lunch, €50 was quite sufficient. The restaurant was Italian, so we had Pizza's and Pasta. I saw someone with a fan to cool them down, when my wife mentioned this to the waiter he produced one for us. Wonderful hotel wonderful service, what more can one say?

I’ve been in this hotel for CTI conference that is inside the forum of the hotel (don’t need to exit to access). The hotel is very big (hundreds of rooms), rooms are ok and the breakfast is good as well. Recommend.
