Stayed in a Kothenerstrasse apartment. Apartment itself was great - very airy with big windows. However, the apartment was not cleaned properly, not obviously visible, but for example, if you walked barefoot, you immediately realized that the floor was not cleaned well. They could supply more than one towel per person. Having stayed there for three days, we realized that... More

The apartment is at a great location and a lot of attractions can be visited by foot without going for any public transport. There are a lot of restaurant nearby and is a great place to stay if you are a tourist. The car park however has a height restriction and the sedan I was driving was a very tight... More

I stayed in the Pfefferbett apartments on Invalidenstrasse. They are well located, just one tram stop from the Hauptbahnhof but also in a nice area right opposite the Natural History Museum and right near the U-Bahn that runs down to Friedrichstrasse. So connections are excellent. There is a decent little food market - Netto - just round the corner. I... More

The 2 person apartment is a great alternative to a more expensive hotel or even a hostel. The apartment has everything you might need for a short stay in Berlin. It is clean, sufficient space and a complete bathroom with full bath. The kitchen has everything you need for some cooking, although the small electric stove and lack of an... More

The apartment was clean and comfortable. It was very easy to get to the subway and to the train station. It has an elevator, which was a big help. The lobby was pretty and the area felt safe. My sister and I were traveling together, so being in a safe place was important. To get WiFi, you would have to... More

Clean apartment with convenient access to public transport. Kitchen equipped with large fridge, dishwasher, coffee machine. Heating system worked well. Cable TV. No formal wifi arrangement although was able to get onto the wifi network of a 'neighbour'. Excellent value, booked through expedia.co.uk Would definitely use again.

This apartment was nice; very basic but lovely nonetheless. It was brilliantly situated, with beautiful high ceilings. Kitchen was superbly appointed, everything we needed from the kitchen was there. However, considering the apartment was supposed to be for six people, I find it totally inadequate that there was one small mirror in the bathroom for the entire apartment. It might... More

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighbourhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighbourhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.

“The two person apartment was to the back of the building, no traffic noise what-so-ever. Also, rates between websites varied widely, as such I got more than half of the price of via bookings.com where other sites didn't offer anything. Use the compare button on tripadvisor for good results.”

“Plan on using the subway, which is very easy, to get around. They have day card, so get one and use it. We had trouble at the Subway getting it to take our charge cards, so have some cash with you in case you do too.”
