location is great, 200m away from a major U,S bahn and tran station called Friedrichstrasse. value for money is excellent, room is clean, bed is comfortable, we checked in in 10 min, really quick, room was ready on spot. I liked that it had adjustable temperature. Bathroom and shower a bit small but at this location and price, there is... More

I found the hotel on the internet and made reservations prior to departing home. We stayed at the Allergra hotel two nights. It was well located for sightseeing in Berlin. The room was not large but was comfortable. No Air conditioning. WIFI was available. A good breakfast buffet was provided. We thought the value was good. The staff was friendly... More

The best thing about this hotel is its location in the center of Berlin and close by to many touristic destinations and Berlin HBF, the staff are friendly and helpful, the room is wide and clean, the internet is ok, there are many restaurants in the same street, the street can get a bit loud at night.

Booked the hotel for a five day tourist stay in Berlin. The hotel is well run, the reception desk (across the road in its sister hotel) was friendly and efficient. The room was average size with a modular ensuite. The beds had comfortable memory foam mattresses. I only used the restaurant for breakfast, but this was a good quality buffet... More

I can only say good things about this place. The location is great, so close to the city. We walked most of the time, but Bahnhof Friedrichsstrasse is just around the corner. The rooms were okay, just a basic city hotel. Everything was clean and got cleaned every day. Our room was facing the street, which was a bit noisy,... More

The only good thing about this hotel were the staff who were extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel is as basic as it can get. The rooms are boiling hot and don't have air con or even a fan. The wi-fi was a problem and was the connection was intermittent. You can get food as room service but it is... More

This hotel is centrally located near the Bundestag but the advantages end there. Previous reviews on Trip Advisor warned about the wi-fi problems and our issue was that we had no connection in our room. Reception staff at first told us that they would deal with the problem and then told us the problem was with our device. Bathrooms are... More

We stayed one night at the Allegra during our weekend stay in Berlin. Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
