If it doesn't feel like a 4-star, it doesn't look like a 4-star and you are not treated as in a 4-star, then it probably isn't a 4-star. The hotel looks outdated and plain ugly. The rooms are not particularly beautiful, either, although they are clean and decently sized. TV channels selection is very poor, especially if you don't speak...

The location is great, price, too. Breakfast and personnel were also very good, but it's unacceptable for a hotel this big not to have anyone on call when there is no hot water. I had just finished training and had to take a cold shower in an already cold weather on my last day before traveling. Also, I repeatedly complained...

We stayed here last week for five nights and occupied a top floor (8 floors but have a lift) in a comfort room. On arrival the room was spotless and smelt nice and fresh. The decor was mainly wood, bit dark but not a problem. The bed was two large singles pushed together, really comfortable with duvets. We asked for...

Great hotel for sightseeing and going to the Christmas markets. Rooms were nice and spacious. Free internet. Really good breakfast included with the room. Walking distance to all of the major sights. Including checkpoint Charlie. Very good for Christmas markets.

On arrival, we received a warm welcome from Phil, who also gave us a map of Berlin and explained where we were. Our room was clean, comfortable and spacious (it had no view but then we didn't come to the hotel for that). Breakfast was plentiful with a good choice on offer. We had pizzas in the Italian restaurant downstairs...

Solid, clean, mid-range hotel in a good location. Rooms are fine, bathroom is great with good shower and a big bath and breakfast has been good too. Friendly staff. Would say this is a 3* hotel not 4*.

This is a well situated clean and efficient place to stay. Next to Kochstrasse U-bahn station and does excellent breakfasts. Ask for a room overlooking the park; great sunrises and quiet. The bar named DieBar is reasonably priced and although full of business people still a neat place.

For us the hotel location was perfect, there were a lot of interesting places to see near the hotel. Hotel it self was super nice, our room was small and cozy, the best thing was the tub. Good atmosphere over all.

First time staying near check point Charlie in Berlin. This hotel is not only in an excellent location it has an old fashion charm that is missing in many hotels these days. Tall ceilings, beautiful facade and great staff. Rooms are very very spacious and comfy Enjoy

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighbourhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
