I normally stay in Mitte but because of work, which was around the corner, I decided to stay in this apartment. I was there for 10 days and the rooms didn't get cleaned during this period. For anything extra (clean towels) you needed to pay extra. The apartment is basic, with Ikea furniture and a small kitchen. For me it...

We didn't want to stay in the centre and played a blinder when we chose this place. Right on the Park, loads of bars and quirky restaurants within a 15 min walk. Room large with a big enough bed to accommodate two wriggly people. Little kitchen where we made breakfast and lunch happily. Good security. Smiley staff. Immaculately clean. Decent...

My boyfriend and I just got back from our first trip from Berlin. We stayed here for four nights. The apartment was clean, modern and quiet. Our flight was delayed on our arrival so we had to check in late. Staff were very helpful and arranged for our keys to be kept in a safe box. The only downside was...

If we were in our twenties, we might have thought this place just about adequate, but as we are pensioners it was totally inappropriate. The reservation was made for us and we did not choose it ourselves, but we should have researched it more carefully. While the accommodation is pretty poor, the location is really terrible. First, the accommodation. While...

The apartment itself was very modern & clean and in a good location in Kreuzberg just a short walk from the busiest parts (we particularly liked the area around Schlesisches Tor for bars & restaurants & street art). I will however point out that the location next to Gorlizter Park is far from ideal as it is full of men...

Stayed here for our first trip to Berlin. Four nights. Room was clean and very well equipped. The only negative was the HIDDEN cleaning charge of €30, our room was never once cleaned or fresh towels provided!! and we had to take TP from public toilet in the evenings as no one on the desk after certain time. We arrived...

Had a great stay here. Clean, modern apartments right in kreuzberg. Very cool area with brilliant places to eat and drink. Don't mind what people say about the "drug dealers" in other reviews, they're friendly folk. I will recommend the apartments to friends.

We travelled in a group of 6 friends and stayed in three rooms of two. The apartment was pretty small, but had a kitchen, which was a big plus. Our friends room was actually a lot bigger than ours, so we hung out there. We were facing the back, and found it to be fine in terms of noise from...

You get soooo much better places in Berlin for the same rates. The "apartment" was absolutely tiny, smaller than an even small hotel room. They never clean the room or change sheets or towels, you are completely on your own. The location is quite good though, next to some really good bars and cosy cafes.

The apartment is clean and well equipped. But it is extremely hot and very noisy. There is a live music venue at the rear of the property. There's also a patio at the rear where the smokers congregate. If you are staying in the back of the building you have the choice of keeping the window open, and having your...

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighbourhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
