I have visited the hotel for 4 days for leisure. The rooms are average to small but very cozy and the space is good organized that you do not realize it. It is very clean and fresh. The location is great as you can take the subway and the tram in just 2 min walking from the hotel. Alexanderplatz is...

To start with the pluses. The hotel is, as many reviewers comment, in a very good location, in Mitte. It is within a few minutes' walk of the wonderful Hackescherhof and a very short walk to to the River Spree, the Dom (which can be seen beautifully from some windows) and Museum Island and is close to a station. It...

I had a very pleasant couple / business weekend their with my girlfriend. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, the hotel bar was very cozy. In the summer there is a roof-top bar with fantastic views over Berlin's Jewish Quarter (not open and too cold when we were there). The location is excellent with a wealth of restaurants around...

This hotel is very well located in Berlin, the staff at reception were really helpful with directions and other things. The rooms are very clean and comfortable to stay in, we stayed in a high floor room and had a great view of the Berlin cathedral.

We had a corner suite for 3 people. It was very spacious and the bathroom was lovely. The bar and reading room area were very cosy and comfortable with well designed chairs and sofas and the inviting fire. Location for museums couldnt be better. Staff helpful too.

Walking distance to Alexandarplatz market and many restaurants and bars. Right next to train station. Quiet corner room with a very comfortable bed. Free Wi-Fi which was strong in the room. Nearby convenient store that is open late. Helpful staff. Attentive housekeeping. Small room, but I didn't mind. Nice view from the upper floor.

I've lodged at the Monbijou in 2015 and again this year. The hotel is consistently good, with great staff and a cozy lounge. Rooms are minimalist but reasonable. Location is very good. Morning buffet breakfast is really satisfying and comprehensive, with high quality ingredients. WiFi is okay, but capped at 250kbit/sec and has a security degrading transparent proxy in-line. Otherwise,...

The reception desk was helpful and friendly the hotel room was small but we'll designed it gives you everything you need to get out and enjoy Berlin. I would stay again. There is also a couple of restaurants and bars right out of the front of the hotel. Let me check in an hour early no trouble at all.

Located close to Museum Island and Hackescher Markt, it is easy to walk to the old centre's attractions or get onto public transport. Indeed there are trams congregated outside the hotel, which isn't ideal if your room is on located on that side of the building; however the noise level isn't that great to request a room change. We were...

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
