Great place to stay in Berlin if you want to avoid the modern hotels and luxury chains. The flat is divided in 6-8 rooms decorated with furniture from the 20's.The staff is friendly and helpful but the needings are the basic from any other flat

This hotel-pension is ideally located to transportation, shops and restaurants. Despite its city-centre location, the street is quiet at night. The building is quite old and is a step back into the past with elegant if simply decorated rooms. The host is very knowledgeable and helpful and does his best to ensure you have a pleasant stay. The extensive choice...

Perfect Spot in Berlin - close to the Zoo Station, just round the corner from one of the main shopping areas, including a bar/restaurant round the corner which seems to be open round the clock :) Spacious rooms with good wifi connection in common areas. We also opted for the optional bfast which included a good selection of food items....

We enjoyed our stay in Pension Funk which occupies the 3rd floor (as Americans call it) of an historic building. Our room was spacious with tall ceilings and a seating area besides large king size bed. The ensuite bathroom was small but functional; it seemed to have been added as a complete unit. There was a delicious buffet breakfast daily....

Great location! Zoo station, great shopping and a large variety of restaurants just down the street. This is a very historic hotel with 1920's decor. My son and I stayed in a twin room that was a bit small for the two of us. No bathroom inside the room but there was wifi! The bathroom and shower were down a...

I first stayed here in 1998, an th hotel has not much changed. The hotel was once the home of a pre war famous Swedish film star. She left the city when Hitler became Chancellor. The hotel is now situated on the second floor of this very grand building. The owners have kept the pre war feel whilst at the...

I stayed here for 5 nights at beginning of Feb and loved everything about the place. Location is great but above all I felt so welcome and loved the history and character of the building. Staff were so friendly and helpful I really cant fault the place. Great nights sleep. Good breakfast. I want to return ASAP.

A historic hotel, old but not rundown. The rooms are rather small, but clean and quiet, and the price is a bargain for a large city, Consider staying in the large suite, ideal for families, and not that expensive.Herr Pfundt and the staff are most helpful. Breakfast is a feast and a chance to meet other guests from all over...

The building and hotel was very charming but I think for the price you pay you could get something much more modern with better facilities. Free wifi. However some of the rooms have shared WC and bathing facilities. Didn't sample the breakfasts due to feeling terrible on the first morning and having to catch an early flight on the second...

We returned to the Hotel Funk for many reasons. The lovely quiet street it is located on in beautiful Charlottenburg, it's historic past, the ambience, the friendly and helpful staff. We asked for andgot a specific room. Considering the location the hotel is well priced with breakfast included. It is getting a little tired. and the furniture could do with touching up,...

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
