It was our first time in Berlin, judging by the reviews this could be better than the average hostel. Still, here's our review. The good points: great staff, friendly and helpful. The shared kitchen is well equipped with two refrigerators and lots of space. The shared area is really confortable, suitable for meeting people, planning the next day or watching...

A friend and I stayed at this hostel in a 10-bed dorm (not shown in pictures) for 2 nights as we were travelling around Europe on a budget. The hostel was easy to reach with a train station nearby (about 20 mins away from Berlin Central Station) and a Lidl a 5 minute walk away. The staff are friendly with...

Very cheap and comfortable hostel, located only 15minutes from the S-Bahn or U-Bahn station. There is the wifi only at the reception but it's okey because you can enjoy spending time sitting on the sofas chatting with other people and surfing with your mobile. The kitchen was very big and the bathrooms/toilets were very clean. The room was newly decorated...

We loved this hostel! While hostel-jumping for three weeks, we got a chance to stay in a lot of places... but this is the only hostel we came back to. There were two separate hallways, which made the hostel feel deceivingly small:) The girls-only room was great, with just 6 beds; usually 4 were taken. There were lockers available (you...

Basic furnishings. creaky and unstable bed. cleanliness level is good but not excellent. Bathrooms poorly equipped and uncomfortable. Lobby and common area not so neat and clean, sometimes unpleasant odors come from the kitchen. The area where the hostel is located and nice and quiet. Although the rooms are locate at ground floor they are very quiet.

Turned out to be the best stay in a hostel so far. Calm, quiet, neat and friendly staff and easy access to public transport and good number of restaurants nearby. They offer good accomadation for a cheap price which is actually good for travellers

We booked this place as our "Cheap Option" but it turned out to be the best place we stayed, across Europe. We had a 4 bed private room, but even the shared dorms were massive, our's had lots of floor space. We also had a load of charging points, which was perfect if you're coming fresh of a night out...

I felt right at home at this hostel. The staff is very friendly but specially the "living room" it is like being in your own house sharing the big tv, couch, food and chatting with other people. They have a computer with headphones to be used for free, the kitchen is complete and big enough and there is a big...

Nice and friendly welcome, but the quality of social background completely unacceptable. Very unsettled feeling around the hostel. It would help more clean and rebuild the toilets. Photos are misleading.

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighbourhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighbourhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
