If you want to be welcomed by a true Berliner with vast knowledge of the area - this is the place! Enrico is a funny and warm guy who will show you everything you need to know. The hostel itself is wonderful, clean and cosy. Close to the u-bahn and also a great street market that happens twice a week....

This small hostel is located close to the u-bahn subway station, which means a convenient trip from the airport, if you can get around the difficult-sounding German names! The website provides clear instructions on how to get here. I was greeted by a very cheerful guy called Enrico, who turned out to be a treasure chest of information about the...

We stayed with Enrico for five nights in Berlin. It was awesome, Enrico is a really cool guy. When we arrived we were shown many excellent things to do and places to sea and eat in Berlin. It is a tiny hostel, the bunks are really cool, spacious and have curtains for privacy and lockers for your belongings. We were...

I enjoyed my time in Berlin so much, largely in part to Enrico and Co at riverside lodge. This is a Brilliant hostel in a cool area with lots of bars, cafés and people watching. Close to the subway - need to take 1 train change into the city centre but not difficult by any means. The staff and owners...

This small hostel is near the subway, and from there you can get there anywhere. Enrich was very helpful and indicated the places I should check out. I followed his advice and, I was not disappointed! The hostel had a nice big bathroom and a kitchen. There are several small, nice pubs and grocery stores near the hostel. I would...

Enrich is the owner of this small hostel and he does everything he can to ensure that guests enjoy their stay. Upon arrival, he outlines a map of Berlin and provides guests with a lot of valuable insider experience in regards to Berlin. The hostel itself is very nice mainly because it is so small. That allows for more privacy...

We spent two nights in the minidorm. The hostel is in the middle of Berlin Kreuzberg / Neukölln, in the centre of party, clubs, culture, whatever you want. The Paul-Lincke-Ufer is nearby, one of the alternative catwalks of Berlin. If you're looking for a cheap place to stay in Berlin, then this is it. Staff is friendly, rooms are clean,...

This trip to Berlin was a gift for 30th Birthday from my girlfriend who'd looked up Riverside Lodge on sites like this... Good choice I reckon. On arrival we were greeted by the incredibly friendly and helpful owner. He sat us down with a map and talked through some of the stuff we might like to see while we were...

There is not one negative thing I can say about my stay at Riverside. After travelling around Europe and staying in party hostels, Riverside was a breath of fresh air. It was a home-away-from-home in the middle of trendy Kreutzberg. Perfect position. The beds were comfy and the room spacious. I loved only having 10 or so other visitors, we...

The owner was very helpful, lots of tips and local knowledge. The private room was large, access to a kitchen and bathroom (shared with only one other room). GREAT restaurant on the corner!! The markets next door are also worth looking around.

Staying in Neukolln

Neighbourhood Profile
Neukolln
No Berlin neighbourhood is more popular with the young and jet-set crowd than the old worker's district of Neukölln. With so many Turkish settled here, the area became known as “Little Istanbul“. Today the percentage of foreigners is still high and visitors still frequent the Turkish shisha bars. In the daytime, they also visit the designer shops and sit by the canal in one of the street cafés up and down Westerstrasse or at Maybachufer, having a beer and waving to the sightseeing boats as they float by. But at night, Neukölln is dominated by increasingly young, alternative, and international crowds. This is particularly evident in the northern section of the district where there are many bars, funky clubs, galleries and restaurants. There, the night never seems to end.
