Located right in the heart of the action this new modern hotel has modern very clean rooms with amazing breakfast and attention to detail. It has gloves and sanitiser available anywhere and the views of the Port just added to a great experience. PS the reception lady was very professional and courteous

Neat hotel in a great location. Quiet room with a good view. Staff is engaging and personable, breakfast is outstanding. Within walking distance of many area attractions, and very close to excellent restaurants.

This was our second visit to Bremerhaven and since we stayed at the Comfort hotel the last trip we decided to stay here this time. Nothing against the comfort hotel, but the two hotels are in two different leagues.
The Best Western was considerably more spacious and up to date. Although there is a cost increase staying here, if you plan on spending any time in your room the cost difference disappears with the up graded rooms here. Although we don't go on vacation to spend time in our room, the ability to relax in front of wall to wall floor to ceiling windows that overlook the inlet was hard to pass up. We bought a bottle of wine in the wine shop at the fish market shopping area and enjoyed sitting in the room with the lights out having a glass relaxing every evening.
We paid the extra for a superior room which put us on either the third of fourth floor with a view that on a clear day you could see the city lights and all the way to the harbor.
The breakfast offered is excellent and the staff very attentive. It's not your typical offering, but more of an expanded offering ranging from the normal meat and cheese to eggs, sausage, bacon, etc.
The parking is on site behind the hotel and has easy access to the hotel with a limited number of first come covered spaces available.

Response from BWPHotelBremerhaven, Guest Relations Manager at Best Western Hotel Bremerhaven
Responded 26 Oct 2016
We couldn't have said it any better although our sister hotel, the Comfort Hotel Bremerhaven, is one of its kind as well. But since we are the staff of the Best Western Plus Hotel Bremerhaven we don't feel any remorse to coincide with your review. The rooms to the waterside just offer that little extra you'll come to love when staying with us the first time. Thank you so much for your great review. Hope to welcome you back some time!

Sitting directly on the water front in the historical fish docks in Bremerhaven this is a gem of a hotel.
High quality construction, streamlined and beautiful appointment with enough character to elicit the local area, but not quirky. The water fronted rooms in particular are something special with floor to ceiling windows.
I arrived near midnight and left early the next morning so I was unable to fully test all the services but from what I saw at breakfast and in the rooms and lobby and bar I was more than happy.
Facilities include Gym and Sauna.
Well deserving of its BW Plus status.

A standard boring bed and breakfast hotel in a extremely depressing part of town
Do you have to stay here remember to ask ot book a room with sea view , the back side of the hotel is like a industrial site of old and seems closed storage houses
Hotel is clean and tidy , breakfast good for this grade hotel

For Bremerhaven this hotel fits very well. Bremerhaven is not a huge city in terms of inhabitants but locationswise it is a long stretch. So wherever you chose to stay, things are closer or more far away. And Bremerhaven is not a sleeping beauty, more tough and rocky.
This hotel is in the old fish port. There is still some fishing industry, right behind the hotel. We booked a room facing the water line and enjoyed the views. They are far from romantic bucolic but as fascinating as industrial port views can be. They have their own fascination.
The room was good, insulation seemed well, albeit we were opposite the lifts. Reception desk staff was welcoming (and Mr. Stern most welcoming). It attended the bar as well, hence multi tasking in the evening and that put a lot of stress on them. However, they were always kind and friendly.
Breakfast offered good choices and really good, strong filter coffee. There was a coffee machine as well for indivudual cups.
There is a new bus line (HL) with a stop near by the hotel that connects this part of the town with the more central parts. Very convenient. We did not use it since we came by car.
If you continue the water line further, there is Greta's Café, a good find! We ate at one of the fish restaurants nearby in the transformed industrial site. More centrally located "Villa Seebeck" would be a good restaurant choice.
And for museums: one less popular but very interesting one is the museum of the 50's. Unfortunately further away and open on Sundays only.
I liked staying at this hotel. Those four nights were great.

Pleasant locality to spend a few days. The superior rooms are beautifully situated and offer a perfect view to the old fishing port. The fishing trawlers are laying by port in vicinity to the hotel. Nevertheless no big noise but a real exceptional place for a hotel. Observe that you might have to take your dinner somewhere outside of the hotel as the hotel does not offer this service for late arrival guests. Best way to come to the place is to make use of a taxi. They are not to expensive for a city such as Bremerhaven is. Public service busses are operating on a regular schedule. But bus stop is located opposite side of the hotel building. To get there, access is given only after passing the channel giving way to the bus stop site.
Premium rooms are beautiful and offer a lot of comfort. Tasty and very modern furniture. Big breakfast in a large dining room.
The hotel also offers meeting rooms and facilities. Location can also be recommended for business meetings.
General services have potential for optimization (Reception, Dining, General Information)

Nice clean hotel, perfect for the visit to a local business.
Rooms well equipped and clean.
Good selection for breakfast that was cooked fresh.
Can’t comment on evening meal as ate out locally.
Would recommend

We stayed for two nights at the Best Western in Bremerhaven. The rooms are fairly new and have all the features that you expect.
- safe deposit box large enough for a laptop
- fridge with some space left to put in a bottle and some cans
- electricity in all the right places, good lighting, too.
- on the harbour side floor to ceiling windows with a good view over the fishing harbour
- great shower, comfortable bed
- desk with a view
Some minuses:
- The wifi was very flaky indeed, it did not work well in the room at all (almost no reception and bandwidth) and to add to that lost connectivity a lot of times. Reception said they couldn't do anything about it.
- If travelling not with a spouse you should be aware that the bathroom offers very little privacy (glass walls, partially frosted, but still see thru).
- The hallways are rather dark.
Breakfast has a very good selection of hot and cold dishes and service was quick to refill the buffet. The breakfast room has super views of the harbour as well and it has a lot of space: tables are not close together. Many hotels have cramped spaces for breakfast, this is not one of them.
Parking was free of charge, but the parking lot is too small when the hotel is booked out. We had to street park on Saturday night, but it was not a problem.
The hotel does not have its own restaurant, but there are plenty of restaurants close by (3 min walk).
Friendly service, quick check-in.

This hotel is located in the old fish port of Bremerhaven. Here you will find several restaurants.
The hotel has a superb view on the harbour and on the Weser even as far as the open sea. To see the sea you have to be on a higher floor.
Rooms are stylish with modern design. Sleep quality is very good. The panorana window is a big as your whole room. Really great !
Breakfast is very good too, German and also warm dishes.
Parking is free.

Response from BWPHotelBremerhaven, Guest Relations Manager at Best Western Hotel Bremerhaven
Responded 4 Sept 2016
We were really impressed by your detailed review. Actually the architect of our Hotel wanted it to resemble a cruise ship. That's why you won't see the floor wherever you are looking to the waterside except the griund floor of course. We are very happy to see that you had a superior experience with us and we'd be glad to welcoming you back in Bremerhaven anytime.

By car It is 5.5 kilometers. It will take you a quarter of an hour to get there. Yer It depends on the time of the day.
On foot, you need 60 minutes, by bike 20, by public transportation 35.
The hotel Best Western Plus is great. Do have a luxury room there. They are bigger and offer a superb view.
The inner city is about 3.5 km from us. So if you like you can go for a walk (40 min.) or by car (5 min.).
Thank you so much for your help rubo66v. If you'd like to visit us with your pet just give us a short note. We have about 6 pet friendly rooms.
"Rooms on the quai side perhaps - they charge more for this. Otherwise all the rooms are the same - I believe"Read full review
