The summer special, 3 for 2, is a good price but we stumbled over a few things. The location is not far away from the outer Alster in the St.Georg quarter but only the suites and the standard rooms have a nice view. The Hotel organized the Airport transfer for us, at arrival I was asked with we all belong...

I've just returned from my second visit to The George Hotel and I do like this place. In winter it has a real dark cosy feel to the hotel and in summer the roof top bar transforms the hotels feel. The hotel has some really nice styling touches. The service is fantastic - very friendly, the bar and restaurant have...

Great hotel. Stay there whenever I can whilst in Hamburg. Pros: - very nicely designed, still modern/crisp looking rooms; - even the small rooms are spacious enough for two people; everything from category M upwards certainly is; - great bathrooms; - fantasticly soft carpet and nicely smelling room perfume in the hotel; - great roof terrace and cocktailbar. Cons: -...

i agree with an earlier reviewer that the rooms were sharp but a touch corporate. the common areas were hip and had some great detail - old books, light and distressed union jack flag cushions etc. the bed was comfy and breakfast good (not included which is something that could be highlighted). I agree that the WIFI was not particularly...

The hotel's web site isn't exactly misleading, but its not quite what the site would have you think. Don't get me wrong; it's a lovely hotel, with smart public areas, meeting rooms which are far removed from the boring offerings from business hotels, and a lovely rooftop bar overlooking the Alster (top marks to the staff for looking after us)....

We booked this through the Hotel direct as they had a Stay 2 nights get 1 free including breakfast and upgraded to a junior suite which none of the bookings agents listed The room was big and comfortable with an amazing bath just right for a soak after a busy day sightseeing. The toiletries were high end and plentiful but...

The George is a real gem, I fully recommend it. It is not a standard chain and has been elegantly furbished to high standard. There are excellent displays of attention to detail - very comfortable beds, magazines in the room, scented wardrobes and huge bouquets of flowers in the lobby. Breakfast is also excellent. It is a short walk to...

The pluses: friendly staff, great views from the lakeside, terrace, good size bathroom and shower, modern design, rooftop bar near bus, ubahn and bike rental, good price. Minuses: small room, super soft pillows, small bed, wifi is free but password expires every day and it's slow, while mass transit is close you are outside of the city center.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and were fascinated by how British and elegantly the waiting room in the front area were decorated. The waiting room was filled with a bunch of design books. We could have stayed in the waiting room for hours and skimmed through the great books. The 'tea' room next to the waiting room...
