Close to the train station. The reception looked ok, and the receptionist was nice. However the room was a disaster. If the bathroom door was open you could not get in or out of the room. The carpet in the hall way was all loose and looked dirty. Room and corridor smelled of smoke. There are a lot more dodgy...

Short visit, but when we needed some extra help, the staff didn't hesitate. Much nicer & helpful than other pricier & "snooty" hotels nearby. Granted, the Carlton isn't the Peninsula or Four Seasons, but their warm & welcoming staff & management are by far one of the best I've come across in my travels. Great for those who are using...

Carlton is a decent hotel but with tiny rooms. The biggest USP of Carlton is its location, which is walking distance from the main city railway station. The city centre, and the shopping district is within walking range and there is no dearth of good restaurants in the vicinity. Ideal for business travellers. Rooms are small yet tidy. A special...

We had booked this hotel as it was in the city centre and right next to the main train station and bus station. We had booked this hotel for 3 nights. In which was one of those book now and pay when you arrive in the local currency. Just before arriving I was given a phone call regarding some unforseen...

First the turn downs: - Arriving at night is NOT recommendable. The area is filled with drug addicts consuming drugs in open street, homeless sleeping in dark corners and prostitutes. - The hotel is "no frills" meaning: old carpets with stains, no air condition, some rooms face the noisy street and some extremely small single rooms, very poor WLAN and...

This is not a modern hotel. The room was rather small and the bathroom modest. We chose it for the location. Close to the city centre, across the road from the central train station and at a very affordable price. The mattress was quite comfortable and the bathroom was equipped with soap, shower gel and phoen. There are some bars...

My original hotel room fell through at the last minute, so I walked out of the train station pulling a suitcase and found the Carlton immediately. How serendipitous! The gentleman who greeted me was extremely friendly. The price of the room was great, including a terrific buffet-style breakfast. The room was cute European, two singles pushed together, a smallish shower...

This was a great spot for our first night in Germany after a 17 hour flight. We were greeted at the desk by a friendly face. The room was quiet, comfortable and clean. This is not a five star hotel with all the extras but rather a comfortable family run, small hotel. The breakfast was delicious with a good variety....

The Carlton is the perfect place for easy access and short walk to the Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof. Its also only a short 10 minute walk to the "Fressgasse" area where you will want to spend time enjoying the Frankfurt restaurant and shopping scene. The rooms are pretty small and nothing fancy and come with a typical European breakfast of fresh bread,...

I needed one more night in town before heading far north in Germany by train the next day. I had to leave my 5-star accommodations and this is where I stayed next. Of course this place could not compare to a 5-star, and it was hard to go from one to the next! The front desk is right inside the...
