Stayed here for a stag do and it was just what we needed. The hostel isn't right in the centre of Cologne, but you can get a tram from the main station which costs about €2 and takes roughly 20 mins. The trams are very frequent as well. We chose this hostel as it is in the student area of...

The black sheep hostel lies perfectly at the center of cologne so that you can walk almost everywhere. The staff is really friendly and you will always find people to hang out with in the community room. Me and a friend stayed the first two nights at the women's dorm which I would definitely recommend. The beds there got their...

There were three reasons that brought me to the Black Sheep. The first being the name, I am a black sheep so this caught my attention. Second, the location is great, a quick two minute walk to the popular bar area where the local university students frequent. And lastly, this hostel did not have its own bar which is unusual...

I have stayed in many hostels and Black Sheep is definitely one of my favourites: very unique decor, and beds in eight-bed dorms are comfy with individual curtains for privacy. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the common room/outdoor terrace area are small but social. The location is convenient but unfortunately outside noise can effect a good night's sleep,...

Stayed 2 nights with my 14 y/o daughter. Our 6 bed mix dorm was near the kitchen and the window opened to the roof top patio which, depending on the crowd, can be a bit loud but a good traveler always packs ear plugs right? What I liked - We had a rental car so a huge plus for us...

We were greeted by a lovely, friendly guy who kept our bags while we went out and explored the city. Hostel was easy to find by the Metro and instructions were clear and easy to follow. Our room was good, clean and comfy. The only thing was that it was very warm in our room and when the windows opened,...

Really cosy, comfortable hostel with good facilities, and nice rooftop to sit outside on. Rooms are colourful and individually designed. Reception staff friendly and always seem to be cleaning. Common room small but again, with a really cosy, homely atmosphere. Only negatives would be the beds are a little creaky, with the bottom one very low to the ground. Location...

The best part: the staff, especially Sven and Boris, are very helpful and accommodating. Also, not featured in the website are the newer capsule-style beds with curtains, a shelf, and electrical outlets. A very nice touch. The only minor downers were the breakfast, which was a bit basic, and the train noise outside, so don't forget your earplugs. Overall, would...
