I spent a few days while attending a trade show in nearby Düsseldorf. Is is a small (compact?) hotel in the center of Deutz, a very-near suburb of Cologne on the opposite side of the Rhine River but very close to downtown. It is also at short walking distance from the Deutz railways station (with very frequent and capillary services...

We wanted to avoid a corporate, Americanised city centre hotels and chose the Insel. The location, opposite the tram and S bahn stop, was excellent for all parts of the city. Although the main train station, cathedral, and old town are all an easy walk. The hotel was clean, the room excellent and the staff lovely. As has been reported...

Hotel is clean, room size is decent. Location is next to train station making access very easy. Just slow Internet and water interrupts, probably under maintenance during our stay. Overall the hotel is good.

Stayed one night in a single room that I found surprisingly spacious. The room was clean and nice, if a bit hot. I kept the window open through the night and wasn't bothered by too much noise from outside, but then I'm used to living in a city. The hotel is only a few minutes away from Lanxess Arena and...

If I were just rating the room I might have given this a 2, as it was quite a hot room when the windows were closed, but very, very loud when the windows were open (facing a major street). I didn't sleep very well and couldn't work because the internet was very slow :( That being said, it was clean,...

I have been here twice. The staff was friedly and the room was fine durin both visits. The breakfast was much better than in similar small hotels. This is a perfect place to stay if you need a good night sleep near railway station Köln Messe/Deutz.

This was my fourth time to stay at the Insel Hotel. It is very well-situated near the Koeln Messe, very near to the Deutz-Messe transport hub - public transport is very accessible from this nice hotel. The single rooms are small, but, clean. The rooms at the back are quiet, which is important in the summer when you need to...
