Great location, well priced, clean, upscale youth hostel. However, the night staff is minimal and is not that concerned with keeping order among the groups. You are at the mercy of other guests as to how loud they are. If you get a poorly behaved youth group staying there (as I did) it can cost you a night's sleep or...

With a group of friends I stayed in a four person room, equipped with two bunk beds, a en-suite shower and toilet. The hostel is bery big and run quite professionally, so it lacks character. That is compensated by the good facilities, cleanliness and central location in Cologne. Only thing I missed was at least some basic soap in the...

I had made a booking with them in April 2011 for March 2012, and cancelled it in November 2011. When I cancelled the booking the said we don't have any booking so there is nothing to cancel. Surprise Surprise come March 2012 and I'm charged for the booking. Called them twice and emailed them a few times but no reply...

The hostel is located virtually across the street from the Köln Deutz station. To go to central Cologne you have to cross the Rhine from here. It is a large, modern building. I arrived without a reservation. It was a bit difficult to get the receptionist's attention who either had a bad day or the wrong job. After he had...

This hostel is near from Koln Hbf (central station). You can go just one station by S-bahn from Hbf. The facility was clean. And you can buy something drink (including beer) and eat inside hostel.

The service I experienced were varied. People in the front desk were not really friendly and welcome, but the one in the cafeteria was really nice :) My friends and I booked the private 4-bedded-room which was in the 4th floor. When we first arrived in the room, there was no sheets on our bed. We thought that they didn't...

I was impressed with the cleanliness of our private room here. And the bathroom facilities were great - we had a massive shower with lovely hot water and pressure!! The location was convienient and only a short train ride into the centre, or you could easily walk which we did sometimes as well. Breakfast was really dissapointing as there were...

A large, purpose built and modern hostel, but nevertheless quiet and friendly. We were warmly welcomed by the receptionist. As a family group, our bunk bedded room suited us fine although the hostel is clearly also geared up to cope with school parties etc. We felt it was a good place to stay to enjoy the spectacular fireworks on the...

Excellent location right opposite the Messe and Koln Deutz train station. As stated by other reviewers, I found it clean, functional, friendly enough but devoid of any character. Breakfast was included in my room rate and I also had dinner, at 5 Euros this was undoubtedly good value but the catering was school canteen standard.

Jugendherberge Koln-Deutz is safe, clean and big. I stayed here for a one night city stay on my backpacking trip to Europe. It has clean rooms for large amounts of people. It seemed like the kind of place school groups stay at. My only problem was that my roomates came in drunk and confused and did not understand why I...
