The hotel didn't get an excellent because we stayed in a room with twin beds and a huge pillar in it! Otherwise, the location is excellent for the downtown main square. The breakfast was adequate and, if you are a coffee drinker, you have lots of choices.
This was a great little hotel in the centre of Dortmund. Convenient, clean, quiet, and most importantly, with a great cafe. The cafe opened early (6:30 Monday - Saturday, I think 8 on Sundays), which was very convenient for that first tea/coffee of the day. They did a good range of drinks, cakes, sandwiches as well as a full continental for €10. I can highly recommend their muesli, which I believe is made in house. The staff were all very accommodating and spoke good English.
Need an average hotel? This is your place. We spent two nights here to take in the Christmas market in Dortmund and the surrounding areas. Husband loves Coffee Fellows, so I thought, why not stay here? We arrived via train and were able to walk to the hotel with no problem. Checking-in was a different story. The reception desk is in the back of the store. Did it have a sign saying "Check-in here!"--I have no idea and if they did, it wasn't memorable. We stood around this random desk as no one was manning it. About 5 minutes later, a lady appeared to help us. She wasn't welcoming. Told us that we couldn't check-in since our room wasn't ready--which was fine since we were okay with dropping our luggage and exploring the city. She left the luggage behind the desk....which, I wouldn't really say was in a safe area since the desk was literally just that--a desk in the store. Anyway, we left to explore the city. Came back hours later and were given our room key. Room was HUGE, which was nice. Windows opened to allow fresh air in which was great. Bed was comfortable with nice linens and pillows. Bathroom was clean with fresh towels. However, the bathroom fan literally runs for 20 minutes after you shut off the light in the bathroom and is ridiculously loud. It sounds like you are in an airplane hell for 20 minutes after the light goes out. We took showers and flooded the bathroom. Now, we've lived in Europe now for awhile and stayed at many hotels and know that the glass divider in the shower doesn't block all the water, but this was a literal flood of the bathroom. We told the front desk who said they'd look at it. Did they? Nope. We ended up taking a shower with reduced pressure so as to not walk around in a flooded bathroom. We had coffees in the evening here and they were good. Check-out was easy. Hard to find a person in the morning at the "reception desk" to take the key and give us a receipt. Seriously??? Would we stay here again? Nope. Improve your customer service, be welcoming and friendly to your guests. This left a bad taste in our mouth.…
Great place to stay and for coffee time! A lot of choose and helpful staff. The breakfast is green with a lot of local products and without plastic. If you bring your own mug you will get a discount of 0,25€. The cappuccino has a great texture and full! Hotel: (1 night) Great big room with a kingsize bed! The quality of the bed was super. Nice bathroom and very clean!
This hotel is in a great location, very central and only a 10 minute walk fro Dortmund MainStation. It is. Ey modern and exceptionally clean. However the rooms are rather small but the bathroom was adequate and had a really good walk in shower which I liked. I stayed here for one night to watch Germany play and I suspect that the were raised because of it. Therefor I considered that the hotel was overpriced for what it is and the addition of the local city tax makes it dearer than the Rices quoted on booking.
Coffee Fellows Hotel in Dortmund was an amazing surprise! The coffee shop was amazing and the hotel is clean, nice, modern and perfect both for holidays or business trips. I would strongly recommend the place! Not your usual hotel but definitely a winning concept!
This hotel is very central. It is right in the city centre. The room was clean and tidy if a little cramped. The breakfast was quite nice with lots of fresh fruit and the coffee was excellent. There was a fantastic shower. · Staff weren't overly helpful. There is no parking except a public parking building which adds to the price (12 Euros overnight). The room had an extractor fan that was very noisy and didn't actually do its job because all the mirrors were fogged up after a shower.
Coffee Fellows is well-known for great coffee in their cafes. But here in Dortmund the cafe also serves as the reception area for their hotel as well as their breakfast area and ‘lounge’. Works very well and offers a modern feel to staying at a hotel. The hotel is well situated downtown and close to everything. If you are in town to watch a football match (as we were), it is easy to get to Signal Iduna Park. You can walk (appr 25min), grab a taxi (appr 10euro) or take the U-bahn which on match days is complimentary with your tickets. The rooms have a nice size, fresh decor and I especially noticed how quiet it was. That was really appreciated. The hotel is great value for money. As an example, their breakfast buffet which i solid and good (without being lavish) only cost 11euro. Very reasonable. I would absolutely stay here again.…
Fantastic central location. Hotels are spotless, modern and comfortable although it was very hot at night. Walls are thing but it was fairly quiet. Good breakfast and great coffee. Staff very friendly too. Would recommend if spending a few days in Dortmund.
The Coffee Fellows hotel in Dortmund is centrally located and proximate to the train station. The shops and restaurants and pubs are all within walking distance and the location is very nice. The staff are very kind and the coffee and food are great. The hotel offers breakfast at a reasonable price. The stay here was very nice and the rooms are clean and sharp.
