Detailed Reviews
This was a great little hotel in the centre of Dortmund. Convenient, clean, quiet, and most importantly, with a great cafe. The cafe opened early (6:30 Monday - Saturday, I think 8 on Sundays), which was very convenient for that first tea/coffee of the day. They did a good range of drinks, cakes, sandwiches as well as a full continental for €10. I can highly recommend their muesli, which I believe is made in house. The staff were all very accommodating and spoke good English.

Took a gamble thinking sounds cool that it’s a cafe and a hotel and pleasantly surprised. Very good service from front desk, rooms are modern and nice. Breakfast a bit minimal but ok for the price. Stayed 2 nights alternatively. Only thing was the check out time which was a bit odd but nonetheless, a very pleasant experience

Need an average hotel? This is your place.
We spent two nights here to take in the Christmas market in Dortmund and the surrounding areas. Husband loves Coffee Fellows, so I thought, why not stay here? We arrived via train and were able to walk to the hotel with no problem.
Checking-in was a different story. The reception desk is in the back of the store. Did it have a sign saying "Check-in here!"--I have no idea and if they did, it wasn't memorable. We stood around this random desk as no one was manning it. About 5 minutes later, a lady appeared to help us. She wasn't welcoming. Told us that we couldn't check-in since our room wasn't ready--which was fine since we were okay with dropping our luggage and exploring the city. She left the luggage behind the desk....which, I wouldn't really say was in a safe area since the desk was literally just that--a desk in the store. Anyway, we left to explore the city.
Came back hours later and were given our room key. Room was HUGE, which was nice. Windows opened to allow fresh air in which was great. Bed was comfortable with nice linens and pillows.
Bathroom was clean with fresh towels. However, the bathroom fan literally runs for 20 minutes after you shut off the light in the bathroom and is ridiculously loud. It sounds like you are in an airplane hell for 20 minutes after the light goes out. We took showers and flooded the bathroom. Now, we've lived in Europe now for awhile and stayed at many hotels and know that the glass divider in the shower doesn't block all the water, but this was a literal flood of the bathroom. We told the front desk who said they'd look at it. Did they? Nope. We ended up taking a shower with reduced pressure so as to not walk around in a flooded bathroom.
We had coffees in the evening here and they were good.
Check-out was easy. Hard to find a person in the morning at the "reception desk" to take the key and give us a receipt. Seriously???
Would we stay here again? Nope. Improve your customer service, be welcoming and friendly to your guests. This left a bad taste in our mouth.

This hotel is in a great location, very central and only a 10 minute walk fro Dortmund MainStation. It is. Ey modern and exceptionally clean. However the rooms are rather small but the bathroom was adequate and had a really good walk in shower which I liked. I stayed here for one night to watch Germany play and I suspect that the were raised because of it. Therefor I considered that the hotel was overpriced for what it is and the addition of the local city tax makes it dearer than the

Dear guest, many thanks for taking time and rating your stay with us . We are happy that you liked our central location and our high cleanliness standard. As the most hotels our prices are based on supply and demand, thats the reason why the prices during the Germany football play were higher th an normal. Looking forward to welcome you again. Best regards, your Coffee Fellows Team

The Coffee Fellows hotel in Dortmund is centrally located and proximate to the train station. The shops and restaurants and pubs are all within walking distance and the location is very nice. Coffee Fellows is well-known for great coffee in their
cafes. But here in Dortmund the cafe also serves as the reception area for their hotel as well as their breakfast area and ‘lounge’. Works very well and offers a modern feel to staying at a hotel.
The hotel is well situated downtown and close to everything. If you are in town to watch a football match (as we were), it is easy to get to Signal Iduna Park. You can walk (appr 25min), grab a taxi (appr 10euro) or take the U-bahn which on match days is complimentary with your tickets.
The rooms have a nice size, fresh decor and I especially noticed how quiet it was. That was really appreciated.
The hotel is great value for money. As an example, their breakfast buffet which i solid and good (without being lavish) only cost 11euro. Very reasonable. I would absolutely stay here again.

There are some definite teething problems with this hotel. My family and I stayed in two separate rooms for four nights. As my parents settled into their room, they were interrupted by another couple who had been given the same room in error.
The air conditioning in mine and my brother's room was leaking. The lift was not always in service. Check out of 10.30 is also quite early for hotel standards. Towels are not replaced every day, meaning we were often without towels to use at all. There were stains on my duvet.
But, there are positives. The location is super central and can't be beaten. The wifi is very fast. The beds are very comfy. Modern decor is very impressive.

Dear Aoife, thanks for rating your stay with us. Its good to hear, that you liked our central location in the city of Dortmund, our high speed wifi and our comfy beds. I can asure you, that the problems you have mentioned are not our aspired standard. As we are a sustainable hotel, the towels just get replaced if you leave them on the floor. Just a little hint to our reception staff and we would have helped you with this. Hope to welcome you again soon! Best regards, your team from Coffee Fellows Hotel Dortmund

...And it is quiet enough considering you are in the middle of a busy town. It is a new hotel that just opened this April. Efficient rooms, nice design with very comfortable beds and very good showers. Pleasant, clean hotel with a nice Cafe downstairs. Friendly personnel.
A perfect location for a shopping tour or a business trip.

No words can describe how satisfied I woke up here. The hotel is still brand new and I was one of their first guests. The room was very clean, the staff were so nice and the bed is one of the comfiest. The location is unmatched as it puts you right in the middle of the pedestrian shopping area of town and a stone’s through away from the central train station. I would highly recommend this place.
