stayed here with two friends sharing a room for three therefore the prize was ok. room was clean but cups and towels only for two in a three room apartment.
breakfast was ok however i missed during check in that i have to pay for it.
i would come back with friends for some events, yes, but not with my wife as the rooms are not cozy.
note: 25 min easy walk to westfalen-hallen

My son and I arrived for a mid week break to watch Dortmund play football and had booked this hotel as our base. The pluses for it are that it is 5 minutes from the station, right on the doorstep of the main shopping area and only a 20 minute walk from the football stadium. The hotel is clean and the entrance, main reception and bar area extremely pleasing on the eye. The minuses are the manners of the staff, who made us feel most unwelcome from the off. I appreciate that my appearance, skinhead, muscled and tattooed can look intimidating. You really shouldn't judge a book by its cover. The receptionist when we arrived could not have been ruder to us, if she had tried. The look on her face as we arrived, admittedly in sports gear due purely for ease of travel (6 hours in total). She proceeded to talk down to us as she explained where our room was and how to get there. Boy did we need the instructions as our room couldn't have been further away unless it was in a different postcode. The electronic room key on arrival at the room did not work, which meant a hike back to reception and after 6 hours of travel I just wanted a shower and change of clothes. The same receptionist then actually told me that I must have got the wrong room, in the most unpleasant manner ever. I explained that I had stayed in hotels before and knew what I was doing. She then proceeded to t blame not to put the key in my wallet as it can wipe the code, the key had been in my hand the whole time. All this rather than admit she had not set it right or had given me the wrong key. However at least this one worked. To say the room was small would be an understatement and the decor and cleanliness were a million miles away from the entrance, reception and bar areas. I really got the feeling we had been dumped out of the way due to the way that we looked. No other member of staff proceeded to talk to us for the 3 days that we stayed until we came to book out and they asked us to pay. On the whole, the hotel is fantastically located as a base for all things Dortmund but absolutely needs a lesson in customer service.

The hotel is in a superb location, ideal for the city centre and only a 10 minute walk from the train station.

Our bedroom was large with a very comfy bed, a dresser and a good sized bathroom.

Whilst the hotel is at quite a busy junction, the windows are soundproofed so there was no traffic noise.

Breakfast was excellent with a good variety, including scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, cold meats and cheeses, fresh bread and pastries, yoghurts, fruit, juices and hot drinks. There was also plenty of staff on hand to keep everything topped up and clear away the tables.

The hotel only serves breakfast, but there are plenty of restaurants locally, including a very good, traditional one next door.

Although there is a well-stocked bar in the reception, opening hours were limited and it was closed on the Sunday completely.

The reception area is luxurious and reception staff were helpful, arranging taxis, advising on local sights, etc.

If you’re looking for a reasonably priced, well located and good standard hotel in Dortmund, this is certainly that!

I would thoroughly recommend this Hotel - is well located being in Central Dortmund. We went to visit the Art and Culture Museum and to see the Christmas lights./Markets.

The staff were exceptionally helpful. The room was spotless as was the magnificent reception entrance that was very grand.

We didn't try the Restaurant as we preferred to eat out.

Our room was fantastic as was a penthouse - top floor with a balcony. You could hear traffic but can't have everything being city centre. Can walk directy into the Centre in minutes and also to the rail/bus networks as well as to the Airport shuttle which is very convenient.

At the end of a sunny and wonderful day that is hard to find in March, the attitude of a receptionist named Iman ruined my whole day. They will stay in this hotel, so they should not be fooled by the vulgarly decorated gold leaf entrance. an extremely rude staff can say wherever you write your comments. If you don't want your day to be ruined. Please stay in another hotel. This is my first and last visit to this hotel.

We booked this hotel at a cheap rate prior to official announcement Scotland were to play Germany in Dortmund. We arrived 4 hours before kick off to be told our room and 4 others was flooded due to burst pipes the previous evening. We asked to see the damage but this was refused. We were sent to a hotel 15 kilometres away as there were no rooms in Dortmund. We had no idea where we were in a foreign country. We were told at this hotel that they had received bookings for us and two others 2 days before i.e. before the alleged flood damage. Instead of enjoying atmosphere before and after football we had to travel to and from our new hotel. A shocking way to treat guests who it would appear were cast aside for more lucrative bookings at premium rates. Avoid at all costs.

Hotel itself is well located near a good shopping area of Dortmund. In fact I might even say the entrance hallway inside looks better than you might expect of a three star. However, this is where it all ends. Cold wate only taps in bathroom sinks, a rationed supply of toilet paper, rationed pillows and a plank of a mattress belie the once-again better than you might expect look in the rooms. When we called to ask for extra pillows we were told to come and collect them from reception (eh.??!!). We were given one towel for two occupants, same order when we called for more. Grumpiest staff ever. Woke up today barely daring to try breakfast, and pretty much dreading tonight's sleep. Only stay here if you have to, as we had no other choice of hotel either (everything else was full). Price isn't even cheap for what you get.

A reservation was made in my name by my colleague as part of a multiple booking through booking.com. A link was emailed to me giving the impression that the reservation was still required to be made and on the booking.com site it now showed the hotel was full. I therefore made a reservation directly with the hotel and emailed this back to my colleague. It was realized that a double booking had been made. We spoke to booking.com and they insisted that this could be handled at reception on arrival. The hotel absolutely refused via a Guest Relation Assistant Lisa Friedrich to refund either one of the bookings so they pocketed Euros more than 350 for a room that they would normally sell at 53 Euros!!!! We have frequent business in Dortmund and will not use this hotel again! The short sighted quick buck has lost this hotel our long term business! Two lessons. Don't believe booking.com and don't stay in this hotel! We certainly won't.

Walked in the lobby and the first impression is that this is a great hotel. That's where the good news ends! We proceeded to be charged €1,300 for 4 nights stay and needed to pay at registration. It felt like they thought we might run out in the middle of the night in spite of having our visa for security. Got to our room and discovered that the two beds we requested were 1 queen and what amounted to be one grade better than a cot - for €1,300.
We called the front desk because there was no iron in our room and were advised we had to iron our shirts downstairs as the iron could not be taken to the rooms for fire safety issues. The ironing room was slightly larger than a broom closet.
Later in the week we asked the front desk to make a reservation on our behalf and were told we had to call ourselves. I guess the two people not doing anything at the front desk were just too busy to help. Nope - hotel policy!
I have traveled 25+ trips a year for two decades all around the world. This is truly the worst experience yet. And believe me, I've had a few bad experiences.
BTW - enjoy the breakfast..... It wasn't bad and at €10 nicely priced.

This hotel comes with certain level of old school bling. Old decor, gigantic foyer, type of furniture, etc. Is is likeable? Yes. Everything works perfect, my room was gigantic and so was bathroom. Storage space was bigger than i have at home and the view was fine (i was on top floor, I think). Indeed the street can be loud so make sure to make your request up front.

There was tee/coffee, kettle, the bed was comfy. The toilettries were decent. Everything spotless and well maintained despite ornamental design. Location - very central, can walk to all the city center points.

I did not use the taxi yet, but bus. I believe taxi may cost around 30-35 Euro. Public transport is the best in Germany.

We had a small kettle with coffee, sugar and milk sachets. You may have to check in the cupboard as that's where we found ours!
