The decor in the room was fantastic. But it is noisy and not very welcoming - it's on a very busy road with very little sound proofing. For what you get it is very expensive - especially when you realise the attached restaurant is open until 1am. Fellow travellers were quite noisy and the beds terrible. Food in the attached restaurant is poor and the service shoddy.

Had Harley and prison rooms. Loved the quirkiness! Spotless and very quiet considering its above a busy bar/restaurant. Good shower with a few toiletries. Comfy beds and slept well. Only stayed one night, would have liked to have stayed longer! Had dinner in restaurant and that was nice, massive portions!

Booked for something different for the trip to the match and was not disappointed with this place. Had the sell room which was fun just for the photo opportunities .warm welcome for friendly staff had us booked in in no time .bit out of central Dortmund but only 15minutes drive to the city or the stadium both easy to find. Had a quick bite to eat downstairs in the bar /restaurant again very quick friendly service.internet was never working but can live with that .

Hotel : room booking errors ! Only 3 people in hotel but we receive entry code to room in use! After this received new access code to room wich was not cleaned.. Got 3th room wich did smell like toilet in hell!!
Restaurant/ bar: was super in the past.. many people/ fun/ buzz. Now people get kicked out at 9h50. When asked employees are saying.. people do not stay long anymore… maybe because you kick them out!!
We have decided after 7 years we will not stay here anymore! We are very sorry , was always fun but this is wrong!

This place seemed a little out the way, but it is the coolest looking place on earth. Down stairs is a proper American style grill house with fridges full of beautiful German beer, and draught too. There were cocktails on the menu too, but I didn't look too hard at those. The food looked incredible and I am sad our stay was so short as we didn't get to try it. The rooms upstairs are like nothing I've ever seen before - all themed. There is a jail cell (which we stayed), and it's actually kitted out with bars on the wall, bunk beds, toilet in the corner of the room etc. The cleaner the next morning let us in to have a look at the other rooms - there was a Central Park room complete with fake grass & fire hydrant, a Vegas room with a fruit machine above the sink, a Jim Beam themed room among other themed rooms. For €5 you can add a breakfast which was good for the money - coffee, tea, juice, toasty, fruit, yoghurt etc.

I stayed at the motel with my son and daughter exactly one year ago in September 2013. My son and I stayed again September 2014 and it was just as good. The rooms are still great fun and clean. The diner has a great atmosphere and good food. The staff in the diner are Brilliant and really make you feel at home. The young lady who looked after us, ( Seanee ) ? please excuse the spelling, was very friendly and helpful. Thank you Seanee. The diner is also a great place to eat if you are in the area and not staying at the motel. The Road Stop Motel and Diner is 20 Minutes from Dortmund City Centre by car. Well worth the visit.

Fun themed rooms, a little noisy at times from traffic but not too bad, the motel is located on a junction of a main road. Our rooms were fun and very clean and resonably priced.the attached diner had a great atmosphere and the staff were very helpful and great fun. The food is good and plentiful and reasonably priced. Great fun place.

The rooms are all done out for different places which look really good, we had the Jim beam room which was fantastic, restaurant on site, breakfast left for us to do what ever time we woke, beautiful scenery, great parking, easy to find.

On the Plus Side: After travelling around Germany for a week the room (Jail House) was certainly a break from the norm and the attention to detail was excellent. Dinner was good, filling and rather large and worth the small wait. The little breakfast room upstairs was nice allowing us to make coffee and toast in the morning.
On the Minus Side: Check in was a little difficult, as it is at the bar in the restaurant, which is very busy but we got there in the end. There were no knives in the cutlery buckets at breakfast which comically resulted in us buttering toast with the back side of a fork :) Just a little thing about the top bunk in the jail house ... It could really do with a bumper to prevent people rolling out (not that we did ... but it was a fear)
