Booked through Besttravel for a Dortmund football match and was a little woried where they would put football fans but i shouldn't have...great little hotel, amazing breakfast and near to the train station and national football museum. Directly behind the hotel is a proper BVB pub for before the matches which was good fun too.
I booked a room in June 2019 for june 2020, everything was ok till 7.1.2020, then me and my team was withouth hotel, becuse I updated my prepaid card, i calld the hotel it was everything ok then i saw 15min later, your reservation was cancelled, I travel a lot and never had these problems also my card is working on all my other not krauten reservations elsvewhere, maybe becasue it is elite seminar on that dates from 24-27 June with top speakers like Anthony robins, eric worrie, Schwarceniger? Because it seams like other teams have similar problems beacuse you need to make your rooms more expensive.,there was reservation for 10 people 1200€ now is reservation for 6 people 1700€. Then I call back your card is not working, I called on bank and everything is ok with my card, it has money. And yes for that booking is no need to prepay like it was wrriten only to authorizate card. Sooo dissapointed with you guys.…
Great place to stay while in Dortmund for a conference at Westfalenhalle. Convenient for the main station, Underground and the city’s pedestrian area with all the shops and restaurants you could wish for. The reception staff are friendly and helpful - and naturally speak great English. The rooms were way better than expected, comfy beds, good shower and plenty of storage. Excellent breakfasts too and very reasonably priced.
Me and my teenage son stayed here for two nights as a base to watch the SuperCup game between Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich. The location was superb next to the pedestrianised centre with lots of cafes, restaurants and bars. Just a few hundred metres from the u-bahn underground - which was excellent and near the train station. The reception staff were very friendly (Egyptian) and spoke very good English. We failed to make breakfast so can’t comment. The room was fine but lacked aircon which was a bit difficult in the summer temperatures. But we had a fan and my son said it was the comfiest bed he has ever slept in. Dortmund was very chilled and had a nice summer vibe.
I stayed here with my friend in a twin room for three nights as we were visiting Dortmund for my birthday for the football, and was chosen primary for its location being only a couple of minutes walk from the main station. Check in was efficient, the room was clean and roomy enough for us both to stretch out and relax. Despite facing a busy road, the room was quiet and it was easy to get a good night's sleep. Finally, the buffet breakfast had everything we needed to set us up for the day. Our flight was late afternoon, and the reception were happy to look after our bags so we could spend a last few hours in the city before heading home. Definitely a great choice.
Hotel had a good location (at the edge of the city centre) which I appreciated a lot and also had the possible to park my car. However I found the hotel quite expensive for what it actually is. Breakfast was good.
We only spend one night at the Koenigshof but we had a very good experience. The hotel is nicely situated close to the main train station with easy access to the football arena. As well within walking distance restaurants , bars and Dortmund main shopping street. There is car park across from the Hotel called "Alte Post" , 24 Hour parking for 9 euros. The breakfast room is very nice and there is a good range of products for all taste. All is all we will stay there again if we ever come back to Dortmund.
The hotel is situated on a busy road so there is no chance of your letting the window open. There is only a small portable fan in the room and no ventilation in the bathroom. As a result you chock in the room. There are no amenities and the telephone on the bedside table is not connected. The bed is really high, about 90cm high so if you have back problems it is not an easy to lie in bed. The breakfast room is very good and the breakfast offered really nice.
Stayed for 2 nights, clean hotel and good staff, hotel is very close to football museum and shopping mall street, recommended. City has some of the sightseeing places as well as places on the outskirts of the city, hotel staff can recommend where to go.
This was my second stay at the Koenigshof and it was even better than I remembered. The breakfast buffet was varied and extensive. I really like the modern aesthetic and was pleased to find a fan in my room given the hot spell.
